I can't give myself like or dislike and you can't give them to yourself. That's why we don't see them on our own accounts. Nobody else sees their own either but they see everyone else's. I hope that clears it up for you. It's not a glitch and it's nothing against you. It's the same exact way for everyone.

Pete, I noticed on the main board where the games, chat, club, music and work zone tags are that if you click on one of the tags it only shows the new games but if you click on the links it shows all games. On the other side of the room there's a bed sheet hung up in the corner with a sign that says "#2 or Girls". Behind the curtain is a 5 gallon bucket, some corn cobs, and a portable seat. Help yourself. When the toilet gets full, find a place to dispose of it. The bottles are being recycled for the undesirables if they show up.

I notice under Notifications setting, it takes you to the thread, but not directly to my last post. For example, I don't know if I'm clear, I mean like the original Topix Reply notifications, where it took you right to a link say 4 days ago. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

At the top left, under your name, it says:
Show unread posts since last visit
Show new replies to your posts
Show who quoted your posts
If you click on the last one, "Show who quoted your posts" it will give you a list of each person that made a direct response to you such as I'm doing now. You can click on that response and it will take you directly to the quote.
Of course, you can click on any of the others as well but they aren't direct responses to you. Try it and see how it works for you.

Oh, almost forgot the reason for me coming to this thread.
I notice under Notifications setting, it takes you to the thread, but not directly to my last post. For example, I don't know if I'm clear, I mean like the original Topix Reply notifications, where it took you right to a link say 4 days ago. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
This forum is set up on a different platform than that of Topix. (Well, from what I gather.)
Anyway, they will probably fix this issue along with other’s in time. Just be patient and they’ll work it out so it’ll run much more smoothly when they are done.

At any rate, I have no idea how to fix your sticking problem but I recommend limiting your and or your computer's consumption of peanut butter. That should in time, make things run more comfortably and smoothly.

When you open the post box at the top click the font size and choose the size you want. Next click on the color you want. When you've got all the details you want put your curser in the middle between all the options like this:
[size][color]PUT YOUR CURSER HERE[color][size] and type in what you want
Is that what you're talking about? Then just hit post like you always do.

I operate with Windows 10 with Microsoft Edge as my browser and it remains the same as what I first registered here with.
Initially, it was no issue but it appears to be now.

I have windows 10 and as block plus with no issues.
The only other thing I've done is updated CCleaner and then cleared my system - (since, I had to update that version because of the Windows 10 update which stated that my current version of CCleaner would no longer operate on this system)

Yes, I will always remain most grateful for Prince's final winning solution as this is the only way I can utilize this feature on TP'S forum.
I think most everyone likes to be able to do this while posting on forums - from time to time - at least I do.
There are times when you just wish to express one's post a little further with a smiley face, perhaps, or even a kiss. lol

Yes.
You have to go to your profile and check those settings, accordingly, to not receive such messages.
Once done, it will no longer clog up your email notifications.
I did it so long ago that I can't actually remember the actual steps involved in doing so.
But, they have such features available to all members to utilize while posting on TP forum.
I only have permissions set to notify me of any Administrator notices.
I'm certain that Prince, Icno or Pete may be able to help clarify each step in this process for you.

You have to go to your profile and check those settings, accordingly, to not receive such messages.
Once done, it will no longer clog up your email notifications.
I did it so long ago that I can't actually remember the actual steps involved in doing so.
But, they have such features available to all members to utilize while posting on TP forum.
I only have permissions set to notify me of any Administrator notices.
I'm certain that Prince, Icno or Pete may be able to help clarify each step in this process for you.

I tried writing my post as a draft in a yahoo email with spell checker... and had it all perfect... but then when I copy and pasted from there it turned out all messed up here and formatted wrong. I'm thinkin maybe it's the browser you're using Cowface.I can't preview either. I am using a Chrome book and Chrome browser. I can't find a spell check option in the reply compose window. From what I read in the user manual this option has to be turned on and enabled for the whole board by you Pete. I dunno.
I'm using Google Chrome and have had no problems with the spellcheck. (I can't speel for crap either)

Pete I just checked on my Mrs. lap top and don't find spell check capability there either, but when I checked on my cell although there is no spell check here on the site... my phone does do a spell check running through the cell key board. So I went into the settings on the Chrome Book I am on now and I confirmed I have it spell check enabled. I learned some helpful stuff there that I can use just as poster. Still have to read some more. I originally went searching there to learn about the origin and history of SMF New host that supports our boards. It appears they have been around about as long as topix and are orignally Simple Machines. Pete I salute you for choosing an excellent host company on which to build your board and online community. Ive been having the same issues but google and youtube seem to load ok. Had the same problem a couple days ago, had to keep rebooting but you may be right, AT&T does leave a lot to be desired at times.

Does anyone here use mobile version, and if so are you able to use like/dislike/love/funny options? Mine show, but are faded in color. When I like someone's post it will show up in color, but its not actually giving anyone my like/love. I looked on desktop version, and it's showing I've given no good karma, or feedback. I prefer to think of them as a different shade of blue. If you squint and cross yours eyes and hold your breath until you almost pass out, that last second, when you feel light headed and dizzy, if you continue to squint with your eyes crossed, they really are blue. In fact, I like to believe they're Kentucky Blue.

Well, Icno, I'm receiving that exact same message when doing such now, so it's not just Cyg & Co.
It only states, I'm not permitted access any to such profiles.
Please fix this - it's a real turn off to those that wish to only post and communicate with one another in peace while sharing their thoughts.
These tactics are becoming to look more like Topix1, everyday.
Makes me shudder at the thought of its resurrection happening here on Pete's Forum as well..

Okay Folks, Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been out and busy this afternoon. Yes Der, part of the problem stems from Pete trying to fix some of the problems Sprocket created. Unfortunately, Pete also has many pressing things to attend to as well and his internet keeps going out so he can't devote 100% of his time to this. My apologies for the previous rant. I took offense to IslandGurl's demands and blistering attitude when we did everything possible to assist her in the past to no avail. I spent hours trying to help her as did Pete. Prince gave her a fix but apparently that wasn't good enough. I did what you suggested some time ago and I was able to post a few smileys back onto this forum with that suggestion of yours.
However, they were disabled again shortly afterwards on Pete's Forum.
I run Windows 10 same as Pete - internally, his works fine on the forum, mine does not.
I did a BIOS update, but still have to utilize outside sources to use any smileys of any sort on his forum.
Are you familiar with the Cortana settings with windows 10?
Could it be my Cortana or ABP settings which I've set both to extreme privacy without any third-party tracking that perhaps is causing the problem?
Either way, I'm content with the outside sources that are readily available to me that you taught me.
It is a bit of a hassle having to open up a second window to choose such, however, when choosing to attach to my posts.
But, I do appreciate your time with this issue and I thank you for your continued guidance, because it still appears that I am the only registered member here that is unable to access the "internal smileys" while posting on Pete's Forum.

Could it be my Cortana or ABP settings which I've set both to extreme privacy without any third-party tracking that perhaps is causing the problem?
Either way, I'm content with the outside sources that are readily available to me that you taught me.
It is a bit of a hassle having to open up a second window to choose such, however, when choosing to attach to my posts.
But, I do appreciate your time with this issue and I thank you for your continued guidance, because it still appears that I am the only registered member here that is unable to access the "internal smileys" while posting on Pete's Forum.

One more thing if Chrome is your main browser, you can install the extension called Emoji Keyboard by EmojiOne which you can utilize in the top right hand corner of your browser which will resemble a unicorn. When you click on the Emojis from within that extension it automatically copies them for you and all you have to do is either paste it in your post by using your mouse or hold down Ctrl on your keyboard and press V to paste it.

I did what you suggested some time ago and I was able to post a few smileys back onto this forum with that suggestion of yours.
However, they were disabled again shortly afterwards on Pete's Forum.
I run Windows 10 same as Pete - internally, his works fine on the forum, mine does not.

I used to see Sprocket on the main forum where Kevin and the rest hung out, but never really interacted with him. Interesting character.A likable person with character flaws that only he can deal with and learn to grow beyond his boundaries.
Life is a challenge that we all must face, but how we deal and cope with it and who helps along the way is really all that matters in the grand scheme of things.
I won’t pretend to know his circumstances, or challenges, but I do wish him well within the coming years and hope that his mind will grow and expand from his current experiences - he needs this - a helping hand and gestures from friends and relatives would be a good start and go a long way.
From what I’ve read on this forum is that he had ample opportunities to lash out at anytime, at anyone and at any moment he could unleash his anger to any member of the Topix crowd and vent his frustrations to have his sanity back.
But as even I explained to him, he needs to practice some self restraint on forums that will not allow such venting to take place.
He needs to work on that..and he needs to stop betraying his closest allies that care enough to say things that he may or may not want to hear.

He is a mess. I just wish him well as I would anyone. He needs help, that much is certain.
I don’t know what his situation is, so I can’t answer something that only Sprocket can, but I do understand how you feel because he will lash out at anytime like a bomb ready to explode.

Sometimes, I prefer just reading to see where the flow of the threads are going.
I haven't had any issues while signing in at all.
However, I have most recently experienced the latter and been bounced off while doing so.

Also, the owners of this website ask us to log out each time after finishing posting, so they can gather true statistics as to the actual traffic flow coming in and out of their site.

And that’s exactly how I feel about him - forgiveness is the answer. But I don’t think I will hang around that much with Sprocket because I found out in a hurry how he becomes venomously angry for attention and will betray his friends in a heartbeat.
I think it’s so sad that he can’t get a grip on himself to steer himself in the right direction.
But I don’t think he’ll ever change cause he get a rush from it.
And I missed everything he did to Princess because I got very busy at the time.

Most that have psychological problems really didn’t notice and it’ll take his family to see it through.

Thanks, II saw this last night too, taks some getting used to. On the Ma it's so much easier and handy, the screen shots go right on the desk top allowing you to see the shots as u go.
I still say the Mac structure is much more easy to use than any windows platform.

I just went to start up my Macintosh Performa from 1996. It worked fine the last time I used it around a year ago. Now nothing. It just shows a small question mark in the middle of the screen. So I got out the installation disc for it, and it wont let me install because it says locked. I'm puzzeled. I was using it for the printer hooked up with it, now I can'r do anythiing with it. I will not throw away this computer until I know it's finished for sure.Thanks in advance. The printer is a good one too, prints great, so I hate to trash this computer for the printers sake.

Hey thanks, I will try this. But this mac is so old, I don't have a wifi connected to it. But will try those other things you mentioned. As I said it worked fine a year ago, now nothing but this question mark. I will not lose sleep over it if its done, maybe I can sell it as a vintage computer. Thanks much! Thanks, I tried this and also tried to boot my dram, did not work, I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for your input. Its an old Mac 7600 series. It did work fine, the last time I used it about a year ago. It was plugged in all that time.

This is the exact model I have, and the Monitor is clear!
It dos he same exact thing as the one in this ideo, with a blinking question mark. I already had he hardrive replaced sev. years ago with added ram. It worked perfecty up until the other day. The Hard drive can't be dead.
I have the original software start up disc for it. But I can't get into the settings cause the disc says log, so I cant select the hard drive icon, can do anything. Have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Mine is an "Acer Chromebook" from Walmart... I think it was under $300 but can't remember for sure... had it about six months. I researched first before buying and for the money it was the best deal... we bought two... one for each of us. It is super fast and does everything I want. It is a touch screen, but you can add a wireless mouse with the side ports.
You and Mrs. C made out. Sounds like a bargain.

Addition #3 (July 1st): Cap the length of your threads This is one of those things that ought to be a setting - even vBulletin is known for choking on large threads, look up rpg.net's motivational poster history. Large threads mean there is a large result set for further instructions in the query to prune from, and if a thread is too disproportionally large, even browsing the thread will result in using table scans instead of the index - a very bad situation indeed.

I think it all has to do with the browser being used, along with device. I haven't had any issues, so they can't be turned off by TP alone. I use a couple different devices, but all the same browser.I have an iPhone with safari browser and it does just fine on here. Pete is the administrator, so he can and does have the ability and authority to disable or enable anything he chooses. Just a thought. lol
Btw I also use mobile, and desktop view.
I was having an issue with some hacker and later disabled their ability to hack my phone. 😁
I’m much smarter then they thought. 😂

Modifying is editing, you know correct spelling or grammar errors for most part.
As far as editing other posters, if there is no altering of your original post, who cares? You will come up to people that have fun with that stuff, esp in feuds with other posters. It happened all the time on Topix, I did it on others, others did it ion me, tit for tat...

I've noticed with the profile pics, since they were changed to round in shape, the pic images are coming out distorted.

Oh, I noticed it right away, went from square to round. The round shape works with some images, but distorts others, like my new profile of this bird today, and the moon Ihad up this week. The moon turned oval instead of round. Npt a big deal just thought I'd mention it. To me it looks like some other posters images here are distorted also. Like I said, no biggy. lol

I keep hearing Unions got crooked, I don't know if its the other side brainwashing people to avoid good working conditions or if Unions did go sour over the years. All I know is Unions are good, I need more recent studies on how Ubions work today to make a judgement call about unions.
But you are right, we all need unions to protect the workers.

When the Union man overheard our conversation he asked me if I wanted something done to which I asked if he could and he told them that if they didn’t give me the pay I was deserved that they would see the union lawyers the next day. Let’s just say they cake around and gave me the pay I was to get with a bonus. And from that moment on I paid my union dues.
It was well worth it.

I never asked why BK is muted, if that is the poster your referring to. I asked what does muted mean, I never saw that feature before. And I didn't know about the 60 percent thing till TP mentioned it to me today. So I thought I'd check this out on the forum, and low and behold there's a variety of member issues, which is a good thing. Figured this out without a book. I had to do the rollovers in Dreamweaver. Create the over and original states in Photoshop Layers, then take them into Dreamweaver, I forgot, its been awhile. But I'm not quite getting it right yet, but on right track. July 11, 2020.

Cant procrastinate in computer land, for sure. I'm getting there. Sometimes I just need a fire cracker up my but to move.
The thing is its hard to move when your stuck on something, trial and error is the key, not to be afraid of making mistakes. Well, I guess we all have our lweaknesses. Practice makes perfect, that goes to say with anything.

I keep trying and it doesn't work at all, so when this battery runs out, I have to stop the net. I hope aI can get a new one for this model. They are standard size that I know of. always something.
I just shut down my laptop and started it again, so far working. I have been having issues for a few months now with this cord, hope I can find a new one for it somewhere. Its an ASUS, great laptop, would be a shame if I couldn't get a cord for it!

It's possible. Is there an indicator light on the charging block? It's more likely, however, that your battery itself is failing. Batteries can be fairly easily and inexpensively replaced.

If charger is good the computer should run without even having a battery in it. So it is almost certainly the charger.

Just a quick question:In the beginning socks aka profiles were afraid to talk. So I made a few, never realized it was such a big deal, now mainly I use mine to keep my main socks post count down.
