Hawaii is on our bucket list as is Alaska.
Hawaii is nice. I favored Maui myself. Oahu was too much city like and touristy. The sidewalks roll up at 8 in Kauai. Pretty though. The big island looks like moonscape on the Kona side. But, it's fun there.
My cousins moved to Alaska. A picture was sent back of their cabin out in nowhere. They forgot about the marijuana plants growing in the background. Oops.
