You better believe 2026 premiums for health insurance are going up a lot in Affordable Care Act ACA policies. Whether or not you have subsidies.
I live in Kentucky.
The plan I have this year for same plan next year the premium went up 180% which would be 14% of my total income. A lot of people aren't going to be able to afford and will lose coverage.
When I say premium it was actually amount I owe per month not total cost of policy which went up from over $1,300 month to over $1,700 month. I still have subsidy under original law it even went up but less than cost of plan went up
Under expanded subsidies cost was capped at 8.5% of your total income. So not tied to dollars.
When I'd see a claim somebody making $500,000 year got subsidy I guess they were paying $42,500 premiums in policy because that's 8.5%
I've never seen that plan.
