I had a male pet Iguana for 14 years. He was very tame except during mating season around Feb/March for a few weeks, he became agreessve, territorial. I kept my distance during this time and kept him in his room most of the time during this period. Some Iguanas are nasty all the time, and some are tame. It is said that female iguanas are more passive than males. But my male Iguana was tame, I got lucky. Iguanas are like people, they have their own personality. I wouldn't recommend them if you have small children around. They can be nice one minute and turn to nasty the next, you just never know...

Much like parrots, then. A parrot can be docile most of the time but when mating season comes they be trying to slash you! They also tend to get aggressive if something frightens them and by something i mean objects like a new lamp or you change hair colour. Does not take much. They will come at you, trying to force you away from the "scary new item".
Blessed are those that believe in what is best for them, for never shall their minds be terrorized.
