Nothing to be scared of really. Yes, alot of festivals will have them on site to explain the needs of them which is a good thing. Glad you got over your fears of them. Alot of people miss understand them. I always had a fear of snakes, but now I don't. They are just trying to survive, they don't purposely want to harm anyone unless they feel threatened.
Exactly, i knew that but still was very afraid of them. I am also proud that i overcame my irrational fear of snakes and lizards. Spiders also.

That's good u found a good caring home for your parrots, will make the transition easier for them.

Constrictor snakes, how many does he have? I could never feed them live mice. Monitor's are huge, well I hope he has good luck with them.

It was with a lady i knew well, who had a few Macaws. She died about a yr lady, her daughter has them now. They are well cared for.

He has two. I could never do that either.

I used one of them in belly dance.

My stupid cousin, who lives in the states, had wolf hybrids. Unfortunately, he never cared for them as he claimed he did. He never had them altered or even vaccinated. There were multiple litters of puppies, yr after yr, one female died then a male. Then was parvo and mercifully wiped them all out of their misery, being kept in disgusting muddy pens. Was a horrible needless disaster. One of many reasons i decided to cut off contact with him.I simply could not take anymore of his bs, his lies and excuses or his sob stories. He turned out to be a total fake. Nothing as he claimed to be. I never knew him until about 2008. We had been talking on YT then FB for several yrs. One day he posted his linage and i saw some of my own fam there. But he had lied about everything as was revealed over the last few yrs.

Sorry to hear that.Sometimes if relatives don't see eye to eye, it's best to stay away, to avoid friction. I used to think the opposite, and try to be friends, but in some cases it cannot be done, I found out as I got older.

I am a firm believer in letting go that which no longer serves and which brings stress, wastes one's time and resources. Life is too short for such nonsense and constant drama. I give people a chance, a few have been given two chances, is up to them how it goes from there.

Belly dancing? lol That sounds scary.

It is my profession in part. I like options so learned to do many things. I try to add something new every few yrs.
I have been a dancer since i was a child. Beginning with ballet. Then i saw belly dancing and bye bye ballet. The only fear is that brief moment of stage fright just before i step onto the stage but once i begin is gone and i only feel the music and the audience.

Indeed.  If not for my dancer's abs i would likely needed a c section to birth Louis. They were prepping me for it, after 12 hours of intense labour and pain had left me exhausted. I  took a few deep breaths and with all my strength i had left gave a few strong pushes and out he came. Then i went out like a light and never saw him until two hours later.

It took me most of a festival season which is from early spring through late fall. I am glad i did it. When one over comes a fear it adds a bit more confidence.

We were camping at a state park last summer... this group camped near us put on a show one night. They did fire dancing with twiling sticks on fire at each end. They were quite graceful and acrobactic. They said they travel festivals and performed fire dances all over the country. We enjoyed them.
