As of 2/29, the mortality rate for this epidemic stands at 3.5% for Chinese and 1.4% for members of civilized humanity. It's basically only clipping those who are already infirm. No worse than the seasonal flu.

"On Thursday afternoon when Ryan Ozawa hit the Iwilei Costco next door to his office in Hawaii, he ran straight into a long line of carts stretching the length of the store as shoppers waited for toilet paper and paper towels.Costco employees were limiting shoppers to five packages of each and hand loading them into carts.Similar scenes have played out across the country and around the globe in recent days as consumers, heeding warnings from health officials, equipped themselves with basic necessities in case the coronavirus spreads to their community. More widespread shortages could hit retailers in the coming weeks, experts warn, which could drive up prices.Advice to consumers: If something is "mission critical" to your life, get it now, says Sam Polakoff, president and CEO at Nexterus Inc., which sources supplies for companies. I read that there are already 4 coronaviruses that are permanently circulating in the human population and along with rhinoviruses they infect almost all of us every year and we call that a "cold". A cold being not a specific disease but a set of common symptoms. The medical community is trying to contain this virus so that they can render it extinct in humans before it gets so widespread that it joins that group of permanent resident viruses. But it's already too late and all-in-all, it's just another cold.I don't give a sht which of these viruses causes me to get a cold. But If I go to the store and can't get toilet paper or Nyquil because everyone else in the country read some stupid bullshit on Twitter,... I'm going to get slightly pissed off!!!
There's not a whole lot of information about her. Did she smoke? Did she have cancer? A bad heart? COPD?
What could possibly go wrong?"(Bloomberg) -- Chinese duck platoons are waiting to be deployed to neighboring Pakistan to fight a swarm of crop-eating pests that threaten regional food security. At least 100,000 ducks are expected to be sent to Pakistan as early as the second half of this year to combat a desert locust outbreak. One duck is able to eat more than 200 locusts a day.In other unusual tactics, Pakistan’s government urged its citizens to eat locusts too. People should take advantage of the situation and barbecue locusts or make a curry."
"At least 70 staffers at the nursing facility in Washington state that's become the epicenter of the U.S. coronavirus outbreak have shown symptoms and been asked to stay home."We cannot make any promises that further exposure in the center is not happening," Tim Killian, a spokesperson for Life Care Center, said at a press conference on Saturday."
More cases of COVID-19 are likely to be identified in the United States in the coming days, including more instances of community spread. It’s likely that at some point, widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the United States will occur. Widespread transmission of COVID-19 would translate into large numbers of people needing medical care at the same time. Schools, childcare centers, and workplaces, may experience more absenteeism. Mass gatherings may be sparsely attended or postponed. Public health and healthcare systems may become overloaded, with elevated rates of hospitalizations and deaths. Other critical infrastructure, such as law enforcement, emergency medical services, and sectors of the transportation industry may also be affected. Healthcare providers and hospitals may be overwhelmed. At this time, there is no vaccine to protect against COVID-19 and no medications approved to treat it. Nonpharmaceutical interventions would be the most important response strategy.
