It's important to note that this was not called a red card on the field — only after a video review

Looks like same link scroll way down to video of red card play
Bosnia-Herzegovina player hits back of Balogun's leg. Balogun off balance rakes other players knee. If watch game speed it doesn't look red, you might see still picture appear more questionable.
Today at 9:31 PM EDT
Flo Balogun gets a red card
And things have changed mightily.

The United States is down to 10 men. Balogun is off the field. And he’s now unable to play against Belgium if the USMNT advances.

Balogun was battling with Tarik Muharemovic and stepped on the back of Muharemovic’s leg and turned his ankle, though the step appeared to be accidental.

What a potential huge swing in this match and the entire World Cup for the United States.

My goodness, it’s HOT!

I can’t believe it was hovering around 100 today and I know several people that got on planes Sunday and headed to Florida. That’s just crazy! My son keeps his house cold! It makes it really hard to go outside. I guess I better quit my complaining, we’ve got a few months of this.

Being a mile high and no humidity, helps. I am freezing in work - left today and it felt good, but was maybe 85F.

My grandchildren were coming down from the barn this morning. Two of them were running to the house yelling, “Grandma, can we get in the pool?” The other one just jerked his pants & shirt off and jumped in with nothing but his boxers on. I thought that was great!

Saw 100 go by here today, not sure it wasn't hotter.

Hard to get anything done outside and there goes the electric bill again

CNN · cnn.com

An EMS audio recording published by an independent journalist indicates that emergency responders were called to the Washington, DC, home of Sen. Mitch McConnell for an “unconscious” person the same day he was hospitalized last month.

In the audio, the dispatcher says the call is for a “cardiac arrest” and a paramedic is heard saying, “CPR in progress.”

Audio of the call was first shared on X by journalist Desiree Townsend and has been reported by multiple media outlets.

Asked this week about the audio, a McConnell spokesperson said they would keep reporters updated on the senator’s condition.

CNN has reached out to the DC Fire and EMS Department seeking a recording of the 911 call and the incident report.

McConnell’s name is not mentioned in the recording, but the address that paramedics responded to is known to be his address. CNN has not confirmed the details of what dispatchers and medics described in the audio.

The same day as this call, the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican and former Senate majority leader was hospitalized. His office has not disclosed the medical reason for the hospitalization.

Putin’s economy is running on fumes after Ukrainian attacks
Drone and ballistic missile strikes are pushing Russia to breaking point
July 2, 2026 4:00 am CET

For four years, Russian President Vladimir Putin has largely managed to shield the population from the economic consequences of his war in Ukraine. No more.

The Ukrainian missile and drone strikes on key energy infrastructure in recent weeks has turned the war from a relatively minor irritant that most Russians could ignore into an immediate and increasingly acute fuel crisis.

Two-thirds of Russia’s 83 regions are now reporting problems with fuel supply, an immediate inconvenience to millions and an equally immediate threat to the viability of many businesses.

The situation is particularly acute in Crimea, where the authorities have declared a state of emergency and banned all fuel sales. Tourism, key to the peninsula's economy in a normal year, has collapsed.

Putin was forced to acknowledge the problem last week, summoning his top officials to Moscow to work out a fix.

In public, he puts a sanguine spin on the crisis. He told state media that “of course, these strikes on our infrastructure facilities create problems. That's obvious” but insisted that “a certain deficit” of fuel was not “critical.” He then quickly moved on to claim that Russian strikes were hurting Ukraine much more.

As far as hard numbers go, the scale of the damage is being disguised, with Russia adding domestic fuel prices to the list of economic data that it no longer publishes.

Plenty of Russians, however, are finding out for themselves just how bad things are. Social media are exploding with footage of drivers  attacking each other over gasoline at filling stations, or even rampaging in trucks through queues of cars waiting to fill up.

It’s gotten to the stage where the nation that the late Sen. John McCain derided as "a gas station masquerading as a country" isn’t even a gas station any more: Reuters reported on Wednesday that India — the biggest foreign buyer of Russian crude oil —  will now export some of what it refines back to its country of origin.

Russian drone, missile attack on Kyiv injures five, hits residential buildings
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had earlier warned that intelligence reports showed an overnight attack on the country was likely.

Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with drones and missiles overnight, injuring five as they hit residential buildings and triggering a fire in a hotel on a central boulevard.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, writing on Telegram, said the hotel roof was on fire. Pictures posted online showed a fire burning out of control at the top of the building on the central Shevchenko Boulevard.

In a later post on Telegram, Klitschko said Kyiv also came under ballistic missile attack, with five people injured in one of the central districts. Multiple explosions were heard in Kyiv, a Reuters witness said.

People were trapped in a damaged nine-story residential building and a roof of another high-rise apartment building was on fire, Klitschko added.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier warned that intelligence reports showed an overnight attack on the country was likely and said he was cutting short his stay in Dublin, which he visited for the start of Ireland’s six-month term in charge of the rotating presidency of the EU.

Putin is panicking, there will be more of this but just as all these russian attacks on civilians, it is impotent, means nothing, changes nothing RE the war.  Ukraine hits targets in russia that have a large effect on the war, putin blows up kids in what amounts to a hissy fit.

Meanwhile, the never were good russian logistics are being pounded, communications, fuel, manufacturing is being pounded and the casualty ratio, even with Ukraine on the attack, is reportedly 8 to 1 with russia loaing more than 30K troops a month and climbing.

At the beach.  My cousin did good on the walls:

Ceilings need just a little work.

My bathroom/laundry room needs to be gutted.  I have everything to install.

I have everything bought for the remodel.

I like you, Pozi.  I appreciate all the good years we have posted together.  However, as I said, it's not all about you ... or me, for that matter.

I took the day off tomorrow but have a meeting.  Friday everyone has off but I have a meeting.  I said I would take itc, because everyone in Europe is about to go on vacation.  We have a lot of decisions to make.  I don't want to hold everything up.  An hour won't kill me.

My meeting tomorrow is at 9:30.  That's like sleeping in for me with all the early morning meetings I have.  Friday isn't bad too.
