The new fancy washers are the worst, seems they all need a new board within a month or two__service people arrive quickly but the board takes some time __same goes for those high end LG multi door refers.

I have an old stack unit stored out in the garage that I paid around $500 for new 20 years back just in case.

That irritates the sht out of me when they make something low tech high tech just for the sake of doing so.

It is like watching Pinky and the Brain, GI Joe vs Cobra, James Bond vs Smersh/Spectre, Homes vs Moriarty there is always another evil plot afoot. They just don't know when to quit.  I am perilously close to advocating that the GOP be declared a terrorist org and hunted down to the last man.
