Remember Trump ambushing Zelensky in the Oval Office? This week Zelensky walked into NATO and left with $80 billion and a Patriot deal Trump spent years refusing. The man Trump tried to break just out-negotiated him on the world stage.

Trump administration subpoenas New York Times journalists over new Air Force One reporting
The Justice Department defended the subpoenas, saying they were targeting administration officials who leaked classified information, not journalists.

Foreign ministers from Iran and Oman met Saturday to discuss the waterway that lies between them, after days of Iranian attacks on ships and retaliation by the United States.

The U.S. military said on Saturday, July 11, it launched a new round of strikes against Iran after Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces attacked a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

"A civilian crew member is missing and the vessel is unable to continue the journey due to an onboard fire and significant engineroom damage," the U.S. Central Command said in a statement on X.

The U.S. Central Command said the strikes were carried out at the direction of President Donald Trump.

Iran said earlier on Sunday, July 12, that it had closed the Strait of Hormuz after a vessel traveled on an unapproved route and was struck, warning that any retaliation over the incident would be met with a "severe response."

Re: Best LIVE News?
« Reply #39622 on: July 11, 2026, 09:14:03 pm »
I have been following a number of LIVE news outlets subscribed on YouTube for months since the Iran War breakout. I Favor LIVE NOW Fox 24/7. I sometimes compare CNN-News 18 LIVE 24/7 & Newsmax LIVE 24/7. What does everyone else use as your go-to LIVE News outlet? I have not had a chance to review all the previous posts to know. I want to find the best breaking live news on world events and the war. Thanks!

Saw tonight's breaking new strikes on MS Now
I think CNN was still running pre recorded non news weekend shows.
CNN normally has breaking war news pretty well.

With McConnell's office giving same nonsense McConnell is improving and working closely on Kentucky and Senate matters

Beshear calls on McConnell to speak publicly on his health and end crazy speculation
'Tell us what's going on,' Kentucky governor urges McConnell on health

"I publicly and privately urged the last administration to address the public’s concerns with the former president’s health," Beshear wrote in a post to X on July 11, referring to former President Joe Biden, whose health faced intense scrutiny.

"I’m calling on Sen. McConnell to do the same and provide voters an update on his own health," the governor said.

Here Teaman
Of course Andy Barr-R or Charles Booker-D will have McConnell's seat in January whether temporary senator or not in event McConnell can't complete term
WLKY-Louisville
Says latest there can be a special election is September 8th.
Past then Kentucky just has one senator until senator elected in November is seated

What would happen if Kentucky suddenly lost a U.S. Senator?

Before 2024, a Kentucky governor could appoint a temporary U.S. senator from a list provided by the departing senator’s political party until a special election was held.

That changed with House Bill 622, which became law in April 2024.

The legislation was sponsored by state Rep. Steven Rudy of Paducah. Former state Rep. Kevin Bratcher, now a Louisville Metro Council member, was one of its co-sponsors.

“We came up with the idea that we’ll just have a special election and let the voters decide,” Bratcher said.

Now, if a U.S. Senate seat becomes vacant, the governor must call a special election. There would be no temporary appointment. Until that election happens, Kentucky would have only one sitting U.S. senator.

If the vacancy happens within 56 days of an election and there is not enough time to hold a special election, the seat would remain vacant until the next regular election.

The next election in Nov. 3. Should something happen to a U.S. senator this year, the cutoff date for special election would be Sept. 8.

Bratcher said if a senator cannot fulfill his or her term and there is not enough time for the governor to set the process in motion, voters would wait until the next regular election.

Bratcher said the change puts the decision in the hands of voters, not the governor, but he hopes the law never has to be used.

“This hasn’t happened before, and hopefully it’ll never happen,” he said.

It is important to point out this law applies to any future vacancy in Kentucky.

Kentucky is one of just five states that requires a special election to fill a Senate vacancy.

 Final: Argentina 3, Switzerland 1
Argentina needed another late winner Saturday night, and Julián Álvarez provided it with a golazo from outside the penalty area in the 112th minute.

The defending champions pulled away for a 3-1 extra-time victory over 10-man Switzerland and advanced to their second straight World Cup semifinal, where they will face England on Wednesday.

Breel Embolo gets sent off!
What looked live to the referee like a Leandro Paredes foul was immediately reviewed for a dive on Breel Embolo. The dive was confirmed after a short VAR review. That’s Embolo’s second yellow card, so he’s sent off.

Any chance of a Switzerland comeback win took a huge, huge hit with that.

Press advocacy groups panned the federal government’s move on Friday to subpoena a group of New York Times journalists who reported on security issues plaguing President Donald Trump’s new Air Force One plane.

Groups that advocate for reporters roundly criticized the Justice Department’s move.

“The National Press Club calls on the Justice Department to immediately withdraw these subpoenas and reaffirm a principle that has long distinguished the United States: a free and independent press serves the people, not the government,” National Press Club President Mark Schoeff Jr. said in a statement.

White House Correspondents’ Association President Weijia Jiang said the organization stands with the Times reporters, saying they were “targeted for doing their jobs to uphold the public’s right to know how its government operates.”

“The WHCA condemns any act of intimidation against journalists, including attempts to pressure them into revealing sources,” Jiang added.

And Stephen J. Adler, chair of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, said, “When the public’s right to know is crushed, as the Trump Administration is trying to do with its subpoenas against The New York Times, all of us suffer irreparable harm, as does the freedom upon which this nation is built.”

Democrats in the Senate, too, took aim at the subpoenas. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) panned them as “another slap in the face of the First Amendment from this administration and an attempt to silence journalists they don’t like” in a social media post.
