(She could count the votes. She knew where her members stood before a vote was taken)

A nemesis for George W. Bush, and a rescuer
She was the political nemesis not only of Trump but also of another Republican president, George W. Bush. As House whip, she was the highest-ranking Democrat to oppose the invasion of Iraq from the start.

But she also engineered Bush's rescue when the financial meltdown in 2008 threatened to bring down the U.S. and the world's economy. She played the crucial role in passing emergency financial legislation credited by economists with averting another Great Depression.

She was also the most influential legislative force behind enactment of Obama's signature law, the Affordable Care Act. She convinced reluctant White House aides to go big, then maneuvered the legislation to passage under odds many saw as impossible.

It was the biggest expansion of health care for Americans in a half-century and her proudest legislative achievement.

The historic bill was passed by the House after a 14-month political battle without a single Republican vote.

I told her I am managing it.  She said she knows, I never complain, but wants me to have a lighter caseload.  She said it's not fair.

Does she wear deodorant ?

lol.  Yeah.  She's the one who told a bunch of us, if there is not enough room in the cab, she'll sit on my lap, lol.  I would never say anything like that to a lady who worked under me, no pun intended, lol.

Women have it easier, in some ways.  No dude is gonna protest their female boss saying that to them.  If it were the other way around, it could be big trouble.

Have to post than headline or be confusing. Really didn't make a ruling.

Appeals court revives Trump’s effort to fight hush money conviction in light of Supreme Court immunity ruling

A federal appeals court in New York on Thursday said that President Donald Trump should be allowed to make a case for why federal courts should review his hush money conviction for possible conflicts with the Supreme Court’s landmark immunity decision last year.

A panel of three judges sent the case back to a district court judge to address certain questions raised by the Supreme Court’s decision and determine whether Trump meets the threshold to be heard a second time. The district court judge has already twice denied Trump’s effort to move the hush money case into federal court.

“We leave it to the able and experienced District Judge to decide whether to solicit further briefing from the parties or hold a hearing to help it resolve these issues. We express no view and ‘neither rule nor imply’ that the District Court should resolve Trump’s motion for leave to file a second removal notice in any particular way,” the judges wrote in Thursday’s opinion.

The decision gives Trump another chance to try to move the state case into federal court, but it does not give Trump what he ultimately asked for - to bypass the district judge and allow the appeal of his conviction to be heard before the federal appeals court judges. Trump is simultaneously appealing his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York State court.

He doesn't really have justification for any of it but Trump says boat strikes are okay but has no plans to strike land targets.

Trump admin tells Congress it currently lacks legal justification to strike Venezuela
The “execute order” that launched the US military campaign against suspected drug boats in September also does not extend to land targets, the briefers said, according to the sources.

(But he's trying)

But the Trump administration is seeking a separate legal opinion from the Justice Department that would provide a justification for launching strikes against land targets without needing to ask Congress to authorize military force, though no decisions have been made yet to move forward with an attack inside the country, a US official said.

“What is true one day may very well not be the next,” said that US official when discussing the current state of the policy, pointing out that Trump has not decided how he will handle Venezuela.

The administration has to date tried to avoid involving Congress in its military campaign around Latin America. A senior Justice Department official told Congress last week that the US military can continue its lethal strikes on alleged drug traffickers without congressional approval and that the administration is not bound by a decades-old war powers law that would mandate working with lawmakers, CNN has reported.

16 boat strikes(all violations of international law) killed at least 67

Donald Trump gets caught in a historic corruption scandal as the shocking truth about his White House ballroom donors is exposed.
Donald Trump didn’t just bulldoze the East Wing of the White House — he bulldozed the line between government and corporate bribery, and he did it proudly.
A new watchdog report just exposed the truth behind his gaudy, taxpayer-dodging, ego-fueled “White House ballroom” — the people funding it just happen to control nearly $300 billion in federal contracts and have poured $1.6 billion into politics and lobbying.
What an incredible coincidence — or, you know, the most obvious pay-to-play scheme since somebody wore a red hat and decided rules were for “other people.”
These corporate sugar daddies aren’t just dropping chump change either — some reportedly pledged up to $25 million to help Trump build his taxpayer-free palace while he smashed the East Wing in secret, without permits, oversight, or public approval, like a real estate developer who just remembered what power feels like.
And who are these donors? Tech giants, defense firms, financial behemoths — many of whom are currently under federal investigation or just had cases against them dropped by the very administration they’re now bankrolling. This isn’t subtle. It’s not even cartoon-villain subtle. It’s a donor rewards program with demolition equipment.
The White House calls them “great American companies.” Public Citizen calls it corruption with chandeliers. Most Americans simply call it what it is: a president selling pieces of the People’s House to the highest bidder while he tears down history to build himself an events venue big enough for his ego.
You know it’s bad when senators are literally saying they can’t find a permit, a blueprint, or a legal point of contact — just a bulldozer chewing through the East Wing like democracy is drywall.
But don’t worry! The administration swears this is all harmless generosity. Sure. Because corporations donate millions out of pure patriotic love — not because they expect favorable contracts, loosened regulations, and magical disappearing investigations.
And if that wasn’t shady enough, Trump’s fundraiser forms reportedly even allowed donors to stay anonymous. This isn’t transparency — it’s an oligarch mystery grab-bag, and the American people are the ones footing the bill in policy favors later.
Trump didn’t just privatize a public building — he privatized access to power. He turned the White House into a luxury function hall for billionaires while pretending it’s about “saving taxpayers money.” Meanwhile, the actual taxpayers — the ones who own that building — overwhelmingly oppose what he’s doing.
If the White House is truly “the People’s House,” then maybe — wild idea — the people should decide what gets torn down and built there. Instead, Trump gave corporations the keys and told democracy to take a long walk off the South Lawn.
He promised to drain the swamp. Instead, he built a ballroom on top of it.

There is so much fluff out there that nothing in the media matters anymore.....They all rely on "likes" by their audiences rather than what is fact....... The question is not: "Does the media work for the people?", but: Just who is the media actually working for?......

That currently remains hidden.....

Weather is beautiful today.

Yes it is a real nice fall day but busy taking care of Mom and trying to manage the parade of people wanting to come see her.

Expecting a nurse to stop by but haven't heard from them yet.
