Received a call from the national media today about the decision to send all federal court cases in the Pikeville division to either London or Ashland. This will effectively move all federal litigation in Pike , Floyd, Martin, Letcher, Knott , and Johnson counties out of the region
According to local media when Pikeville Mayor Jimmy Carter contacted our senior Senator who always boasted about his influence- he got no response about the legitimate concerns of losing our local federal court.
Historically the Pikeville federal court has been on life support- during the 1990's the Floyd County Bar Association passed a resolution I sponsored that President  Bush should appoint a federal district judge who would hold court on a full time basis in Pikeville.
It never really happened.
The political reality is that the six counties impacted have almost unanimous Republican public officials including Hal Rogers. Shows how much influence they have- or more accurately how little influence they have.
The bottom line is that Appalachia gets shafted  again- that is exactly what I told the national media reporter today.
Thanks Mitch and the Republicans for selling us out again.

I didn't see a legend. Does red means they're paying?

Red means they're not.

There's not enough contingency money to make half the cost.

When people especially children are hungry, anything helps.

It's Election Day in Arizona and across the country. Your vote is an opportunity to help shape the future of your community.

If you haven't voted, find your polling place at IWillVote.com.

And if you live in NJ or VA, vote for Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger. 🇺🇸

True. Maybe the Dems should stop voting against it. They really don't care as long as republicans are blamed for it.

I’ve been to NYC and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I wasn’t alone but ironically, I wasn’t afraid. I was more afraid when we went to Washington DC.

I call BS. Our Democrat Governor immediately moved funds to insure people needing assistance would receive it. In addition, he contacted all churches and food banks to further request they would be able to help. That’s what good Democrats do.

In reality, Democrats aren’t voting against food assistance. They’re voting against the extravagant increase to insurance premiums for all Americans. In addition, they’re voting against poor people losing Medicaid benefits. Next on the chopping block for you will be an end to your Medicare benefits. A benefit, you have paid for your entire working life. That just feels like robbery to me.

You have a good governor I must admit. But I was referring to congress.
