If your usual targets aren't biting, try Catfish.

They do have channel and flathead catfish on that lake and it's supposed to be decent.

Philpott lake in Va is about an hour away.  I have been there:

"Philpott Lake is a top-tier Virginia fishery, known for a healthy, regularly stocked population of walleye. The average adult walleye measures 18 to 21 inches, with occasional catches reaching up to 6 pounds. Anglers target them by trolling deep submerged forests and rocky drop-offs, or by night fishing in shallow cove areas."

I used to use bottom bouncers and troll on lake Geneva with a floating jig head and worm.  You can also use spinners.  I like the jig cause it keeps your bait above any weeds if you set it right.
The days go by slow, but the years go by fast.
