Ukraine is still depending on the good will of other countries, much as they would like too, they can't be too nasty
That good will comes from other European countries. Given how Russia has behaved towards Europe for almost 500 years, all European countries should all want Russia to get its azz absolutely handed to them and to be completely economically destroyed. What better outcome could there be?
Also if they learn a lesson, it won't take long for them to start scratching sh1t out of the ground again and making themselves useful to the global economy.
Beyond that, it would take at least 30 years to totally systematically change and for them to contribute any technology or anything else to the global economy, other than the sh1t they scratch out of the ground. There is almost no chance for that. Russians prefer to cower and keep quiet, regardless of what dictator is in charge, lest the dictator punish them. They prefer an abusive relationship with their dictators where all Russian people are like an abused wife, who is very proud to be such an abused wife. An abused wife with nukes who scratches sh1t out of the ground to sell, cause her abused wife brain offers nothing to the global economy ... one can't be too proud of that! Even their nukes are all based on older tech. They can't innovate or make any new tech. Their whole society is defective, from top down.
They have never been anything but a violent dictatorship/absolute monarchy. All they know how to do is give absolute power to whatever azzhole is brutal enough to rise to the top like a mafia Don. It's all Russians are capable of.
