Just went up to my little tavern and wished everyone well and of course all the TV's were turned to Trump's bullsht presser__the one where Mike Pence asked all the contractors to donate their extra face.dust masks to the local clinics and hospitals.
Trump's long press conferences are designed to pump up the DOW and it works, while they were blathering it went up nearly 700 pts but then started to fall when it ended.
That tavern will shut the doors at 5pm today and open back up whenever our governor sounds the all clear or a judge steps in which is likely.
The crew there will be without any real pay and zero tips for two weeks and will fall behind in their obligations so we all chipped in what we could to help them survive.
The nearby nail salon staffed by Asians will remain open__God forbid a woman couldn't get her nails done.
Dr Fauci called on young people to text and/or call elderly shut ins as a way to keep them socially active.

It's been pretty crazy up here, no one really knows what to do, what's coming or where we are for that matter.

I did, but I hope the lay off is for a short time. I hope the close is temporary for you, I hope its temporary for everyone. I'm sure things will get back to normal soon, I'm predicting June or July August at the latest.
The thing is the experts to this are playing this by ear. If people are still sick after this last shut in, it will have to be extended another 30 days, and continue till their are no more sick people. Or we will go back to square one, and people will get sick all over again.
The thing that concerns me with these confirmed case numbers is, there wasn'many test kits out, and people were not getting tested, now the test kits are giving innaccurate results from what I've been hearing. The test kits from China. Another thing I've been hearing, they are mixing in these confirmed cases with people that didn't have the virus, and died from something else.
I'm sure this is a very overwhelming process, but I weary how they are coming up with the numbers of cases. With all the confusion going on, mistakes can happen.

I work in a bakery, we have adjusted our hours and work nights for less contact. They also gave everyone a 3% raise plus 100$ gift cards.

It's so bad that I asked a friend in Echo Park if the guy that hangs out at the Pioneer Chicken stand down on Alvarado was there, and he told me the stand isn't even there anymore.

I believe there's a portal on the government website that you can use to provide them with your direct deposit info so you can get your payment faster...if you wait for a check to be mailed...you'll probably be filing for retirement before you recieve it...

Yes they have. Our 18 year old son who worked part time and we let our accountant do his taxes didn't get a stimulus check. A lot of young ones don't and it is not real fair.

In the begininning I used to sanitize my mail, that lasted about 2 weeks. Now I just dont care about germs anymoe. It is ehausting - time to move on.

Yes in did interrupt some of our orders, but we had work to complete in the tooling side of the business, gave us time to reorganize & restructure some of our departments clean & paint equipment, walls, reseal the concrete floors.....Found enough to do for people to work so they mostly worked through so far.... a few requested lay-off and those few were granted their voluntary lay-off, but has since been called back also..... So We managed to get through it so far......so good.....knock on wood.........Everyone got to keep their benefits, & pay for the duration.....We still paid out for all benefits for the voluntary laid-off peeps too....
We Believe In Investing In Our People, and when the chips are down they continue investing in Us....

There’s been no swimming at the public pool or the Country Club. No parks are open. Television totally sucks because they’ve been unable to film any new shows.

It’s too hot outside to run.
By the time this thing is over, I’ll need to hire a crane to get me out of the house.

I could use 25 people right now. Our biggest issue isn't COVID, it's the hiring pool. It's depolorable!

I did sign up to be notified when the vaccine was available for me early on and I received an email at which time I made my appointment. That’s the only notification or communication I received regarding the vaccine.

LOL Dang it, I don’t look at the gas bill either. I really need to start paying better attention to where my money is going. I’m such a creature of habit. I allow myself so much spending money each month and that’s it. Everything else goes in the bank and I don’t pay attention. I don’t have a mortgage payment or a car payment so I really don’t have any large expenses. My highest bill is my cell phone bill but that’s because I have my oldest Grandson on my bill and have had for 12 years. Now I have my Granddaughter on it as well. My Grandson keeps telling me he’ll pay it himself but I keep him on mine and don’t complain. I suspect he’ll get married in the next couple of years and he can take over making his own payments then.

A man was cited and moved along after being woken up by police kicking his feet as he slept under a viaduct.
A woman arrested while changing clothes in a parking garage during a heatwave was taken to jail without pants. She was later released, still without pants.
A pregnant woman was cited while in active labor. Her story made national headlines. She has housing now, but it did not come from city services, it came from community care.
A man cited multiple times, stuck in a cycle of court dates and jail, desperate for help that never comes.
This law has not ended or even decreased homelessness. Statewide, numbers show a 10% increase.

I;m about to cut out my INTERNET BILL,CAN'T AFFORD IT, AND IT HAS BECOME A monster ANYWAYS.I lived without the net before can do it again. Gives me a headache, nothing good about it anymore in my opinion.
Every time someone is nice to you , you throw them over the bus.. we should all pull our big boy panties up and deal with the pressure of life.. topix too being an irrelevant factor.. have a great evening
