Temps over 80° here is uncomfortable in clear conditions and all sun this time of year anyway, same conditions in KY, VA, TN in Appalachian chain..

Nearby Bluefield serves free lemonade to all residents and merchants of city business if temp goes over 90° during the Summer. They had went a few years without it in the past. Historically it rarely ever reaches that temp. Don’t have their stats on that they been doing that since the 1930s..

Bluefield has one of the highest elevations in the US east of the Rockies, why heat is rare there, at least high heat. It does drop about a 1k in elevation within 10 miles West of the city, warm in those places…
