I think the beef of recent Derby winners is that the Preakness needs to be run at least 3 weeks after the Derby not two and running both does affect their Belmont performance. I seen reports requesting the Preakness gets moved to the 3rd race and move up Belmont but all races needs to be at least a month apart..

I agree all the races need to be a month apart. These Colts and fillies are young, some aren't even 3 even though according to racehorse world they all turn a year older on January 1st. It is hard on the young bones of these horses which aren't developed.
