The year before, Arkansas became only the 2nd SEC school to win a national title, behind Kentucky. It was Ark’s 3rd year in SEC, they were a powerhouse in the SW Conference coming into SEC..

I believe it started taking off in popularity around the time of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in 1979 as well as the availability of networks like ESPN to appear, increasing the game totals and able to watch games all over the country. My oldest brother told me most people in the country hated UCLA around that time…

You can delete posts, lock down the forum, but the truth is the truth and facts are facts.

Even your mightily beloved Chris Tolles was finally forced to admit that Topix was a scam/sham and that out of all the enormous amount of 'members' only a minuscule fraction (less than 1 percent) were actual individuals.
