I do agree with you on not wanting Medicaid for all. I thought that the Affordable Care Act worked really well - at least for me after my divorce. I couldn't afford to pay $800+ COBRA to keep my health insurance immediately after my divorce and several months later when I started getting maintenance from my ex I went to get health insurance but was turned away because of a pre-existing condition - I had Thyroid Cancer 10 years earlier. I went 3 years without health insurance and then Obamacare passed. My ex and I were in the 38% tax bracket at the time and I had been a stay at home Mom for a good 15 years at that point after having worked at our local University in IT and having taught an IT class. One of my bigger regrets is not having continued to work even part time. I was hired back at that University 4 1/2 years ago and love my health insurance. My work pays over $1,000 a month for me. I pay $50 a month for dental and vision. I believe everyone should have access to great, affordable healthcare - I just don't want to lose what I have now. I love Bernie but don't agree with all that he says. Free stuff for everyone is not what I'm about. If you're able bodied and mentally capable you should work. My God, they're letting crops rot because they don't have enough immigrants to do the labor, Americans are ridiculous. I know you have a son with Autism and I have a daughter with a Non-Verbal Learning disorder. My daughter even after being deemed fully disabled by the state of CO went out and got a job. I'm assuming that your son either works or will work too.

I don't care too much what they do, but I am with you.  I don't want to be part of it.

I had to go on cobra when the recession hit and it was 1200 a month.  BC/BS would have covered all of us except they refused to cover my son for about $500 a month, so that wasn't an option for us.  We had to go on cobra.

We are gonna get him disability ... gonna probably nite a lawyer to just deal with it.  He has documented disability since he was a one year old ... state of IL was really good and we had multiple therapist coming out to our home every week to work with him. <<< that sort of thing I support and not just cause of my kid.  He has a social worker advocate who we meet with too ... she works with the school and he part of his diploma is working.  I have been pretty impressed with everything and the options the state offers.  They said they almost always decline disability the first time ... so we may have to appeal.  He will get it though without a doubt.

We'll see if he works.  That's the goal.  He really wants to work with trains and I guess someone with his class interned for Norfolk Southern and then got a job working for them.  So I guess they are supportive.  Like seriously he is obsessed with working for a train company and has been for years and years.  Really that's what he needs cause if it's something he is interested in he is super focused.  We'll see.

That is good. University of Kentucky is also doing a study on people who have had family members who have had cancer and Parkinson's to see if it is an inherited gene that causes one to get that. My cousin, actually my husband's cousin, his whole family of brothers, sister, his kids and grandkids have undergone a study on that to see if they have a gene on that.

Does he have a vocational career counselor that can help him with that? I know here kids who have a disability can get a vocational type counselor who can help them get that. My late father in law worked on the Illinois Central before it was bought out for over 25 years.  It was a great job.

Yeah, it's a great hospital... They have resturant menus, feed you anything you want... To my knowledge they don't even bill you if you are poor and cannot afford it... Same in another one called Marcum Wallace... Really nice hospitals...

Yeah that's his social worker ... she knows all the options and she works with the school and his degree program.  He works at 3 places and it's all coordinated with the state and his social worker.  She works at the nearby state office but also goes to their school a lot.  If he loses a job once he's and adult they will help find him a new one.

Yeah.  It's nice to have options for him.  He could definitely live independently I think I'm a supervised setting or just someone to check on him periodically, but we'll see how things play out.  He will stay with me for awhile but I do want to push him to be as independent as possible.  One day I won't be here and if all he knows is life with me that would be harder than it should be.

As soon as I first heard about this mysterious virus in China, I immediately thought half jokingly this seems a lot like how World War Z or that movie with Sandra Bullock began, lol.  I am not kidding.

And you know what ... I hope it happens ... all hell breaks loose and a mob of virus infected chinese people storm Faith's house like a zombie horde and guess what ... she doesn't have an AR ... because?  She hates hillbillies.  The irony of her demise would be that she probably hates chinese more than hillbillies.

I haven't really developed a Zagat's-style rating system for hospitals. Hopefully, I will never be so infirm that my experience necessitates that.  Here in the northern latitudes, we just assume that everyone in the  south is dim-witted, lazy and weak.

North Carolina is more of a blue blood southern state.  It's not like South Carolina or Kentucky.  😜

The second you hit south Carolina on way to MB ... the way that a lot of folks from NC travel, it fits every southern stereotype the second you cross the state line.  It's so effing funny.  It's like even AtT cell service drops to E for awhile.

It's HE, pssy. And how do you know I don't have an AR?

No man would call himself Faith.  Was the name Lucy already taken or something?

Effin "dude" calls himself Faithy, acts like a female PETA activist, and then has nerve to call me a pussay.  Da eff is this?

Yet, between the two of us, I have a wife and he has a bottle of hand lotion and a handkerchief to dab the tears running down his cheeks

Good for you.  I support your gay marriage.

They might do that up there on the "north coast" ;D

I am betting he just "identifies" as Faith.  Next he's gonna start beating girls in professional cycling events.

He's insecure because he's only 5'2" and his wife dumped him for a real man.

Listen Stacy or whatever you want to call yourself ... your identity as a female called Faith has nothing to do with me.  Leave me out of that freak show.
