Really? Then why are you telling me what a pillar of virtue you think you are?
Never said I was but I am not a braggart either. If I post I did something or know someone then it is the truth. Not my fault, you can't  figure that out.

They had some circus just here but not sure who it was. We went several years ago and it was mainly trapeze, clowns and dog and pony acts.

I guess my point sailed right over your head. Sorry.
Nope, you would have to have a point first and you don't.  You are no pillar of anything on here.

I'm getting a little burned out on people mixing religion,  faux 'patriotism' and the gun rap.  If you don't agree with the left, you're a 'racist' and if you don't agree with the weirdos on the right, you hate Jesus and America.  Is it any wonder I don't vote? I don't want to give anyone the satisfaction.
If you don't vote, you have absolutely no right to gripe about anything. I vote and even if my vote doesn't count, ar least I have the right to complain about the government or lack of government..

I'm not griping about the government. I like the government I think our taxes are a bargain. I think the US Postal Service is the most amazing agency in all of human history. The National Weather Service, NASA, CDC are awesome.  And the real American heroes are not the troops, they are the guys that plow the snow and pick up the garbage. I thank THEM for their service; because they actually have a direct, tangible and positive effect on each of our lives.   So save your self-righteous crap for someone that's buying. I'm not. If farmers and ranchers are unhappy with the circumstance of their vocation, they are free to choose another.
Those things have been provided by taxes  but I know you often don't get that. You **** about taxes and health care but you have absolutely no right to complain. People like you don't because you don't vote.
By the way, the next time you eat that food that you buy you might remember it is the farmer who chose to provide it for you along with the semi truck driver who.brings it your grocery. Yeah, go up to a veteran and tell him or her that after all, they are the ones that have given you the right to complain. The teachers are the one who have taught you and the veteran the ones who have given you that right. By the way all, those services you listed are paid by taxes and government,  the one you don't bother to vote in. Those people are doing a job and can choose a different vocation also since that seems to be your answer for everything.  I hate to inform you but a lot of them can't find better jibs or want to change out of those jobs. After all, money is decent, retirement,  benefits.
But I know you are too ignorant to get that. So you save your self righteous bullshit for someone else because you are too stupid to see who provides for you to have the vegetables and meats you eat. People like you always come with that self righteous bullshit when they are the ones being that way. Come back when you have proof that you don't complain about our government.  You do, everyone does, difference is most people who complain vote.

Blah blah blah. No veteran in any war that America has ever fought did anything that "gave me the right" to do anything ever. If every war America has ever fought in was never fought or had a completely opposite outcome, my life would not be changed in any recognizable way. The US lost Vietnam. Yet I'm not speaking Vietnamese. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan accomplished zero. WWI was none of our business, likewise Korea. If the Germans and Japanese would  had won WWII, it would mean nothing for me today. They would never have occupied this country.

Our Revolutionary War could have been settled the same way Canada's was. One day I noticed the portrait of Queen Elizabeth wasn't hanging on the wall of the ice rink in Windsor. When I asked the guy selling Coca Cola about it, he told me Canada had gained their independence from England. I said "Good for you" and he shrugged.

The farmers and ranchers have chosen the occupation they have and deserve no more thanks than I get for doing my job or the mailmen and garbage collectors get.  And I absolutely have a right to say and do anything I want regardless if I vote. Frankly there hasn't been anyone worth voting for since 1984. And in that election, I did vote and my candidate won.

I'm too young to have been drafted for Vietnam. But if that had happened, I would have just rented an apartment on the other side of the river and lived in Sarnia until it was over. There is no chance in hell I would even consider interrupting my life and risk getting killed or having my legs blown off for some specious load of bullshit that some politician cooked up. A human lifetime is far too short to waste on that nonsense.

My duty is to myself and my family.

I'm done buying into obvious fraud without question  just because a certain segment of the population thinks I should. I outgrew bullshit religion and I have outgrown the brand of bullshit fake patriotism that is foisted on us.

There you go. How's that?
TLDR, it was blah, blah, blah. Go fyo.

It's just that you aren't very bright and can't think for yourself.
Actually,  brighter than you. I don't believe your bullshit and I imagine no one else does either. You keep thinking that if those wars wouldn't have happened it wouldn't have affected you and you are so wrong but you believe that nonsense. The rest of us know better and actually have the sense to know how the outcome would have been if the U.S. hadn't gotten involved. Your stupidity reeks. Now I am sure you will be on here the rest of the day because it is all you have. I have things to do and a family to get going for school and work.

This is kind of the ethos I'm living these days...   I read that 60% of the bankruptcies in the US are due to insurmountable medical bills that people are suddenly confronted with. many times, they are bushwhacked because no one is ever told of the potential costs of any medical procedures up front. So they go into a situation trying to maybe save their own life and they end up broke and homeless. ... in America, to the Middle Class..and to people with insurance. It happens every day.  I'm healthy and have (hopefully) decent coverage. So I don't worry too much.

From where I live, if you drive east across an 800 foot long bridge, you end up in Canada. It is essentially the same people living on the same land. I have lived in Michigan my whole life and I can't tell a Canadian from a Michigander unless they tell me.  Probably half the money in my pocket right now is Canadian currency and half the cars on the road have Ontario plates.

As an American, I would say we have done miraculous things with industry and science. Men on the Moon...Voyager, Hubble... on and on. Yet despite that we are the richest, most powerful and most technologically advanced nation in human history, we are the ONLY developed nation that does not provide universal care for its citizens.  People say we can't afford it.

Yet, 800 feet away, the Canadians afford it. They have one one-hundredth of the crime we have, universal health care, a higher standard of living and a longer life expectancy.  ..... Por que?

perhaps if the US was not bogged down in the mentality of spending trillions on pointless foreign wars on behalf of people that hate us and  don't want our soldiers in their shitty little countries, we could afford it.

And along those same lines, as long as there is even one American citizen that is hungry, homeless or without access to health care, we have no business at all allowing foreign nationals to come here uninvited and hop on the public dole.

Probably when I was 18 or 20 and if there had been a draft, I would have been stupid enough to fall for it. Boys are always full of false bravado and lack sense. That's why they are used as soldiers. They are too stupid to know that they're being played.  And if I had a son and there was a draft and there was some stupid ass war going on in Asia or the Middle East, I'd buy him a condo in Ontario. Because there is nothing...and I mean nothing in the realm of faux 'patriotism', bullshit religion or senseless politics that is even close to being worth risking your well-being for.

Look at the wars in Vietnam and Iraq.... It is widely accepted that those were giant mistakes... Oh well.

Your ethos sucks.  I know you probably haven't thought of this ... cause it again would require more than a knee jerk thought, but who do you suppose throws out that 60 percent number?  People like Bernie Sanders.  Why does he do this .. cause like all liberals, he wants to frighten people into giving liberals more of their money and more power.

But let's stop and use our brains here for a moment.  What usually also happens when people have serious medical problems that produce serious medical bills.  C'mon use that brain of yours and think.

What did you come up with?  Did it occur to you that when folks have such health problems they very frequently can't work and that has a lot to do with bankruptcies too and that very likely is the cause of said bankruptcies.  Maybe they can't ever go back to work.  National healthcare isn't gonna fix that.  It's also gonna do this:

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/while-americans-pine-for-medicare-for-all-canadians-look-for-us-style-private-insurance

"Last year, Canadians faced a median wait of nearly 21 weeks to receive specialist treatment after getting referred by a general practitioner. Certain procedures come with longer waits. End-to-end, patients waited a median of 39 weeks for orthopedic surgery in 2019."

***

Why would anyone with good insurance want crap care like that.  Canada is great if you have the sniffles, but if you have something serious, you'd much rather be an American with insurance.  Heck, in Canada you might not have to declare bankruptcy due to medical issues, cause you might be dead before you even can see a specialist!

And a doctor shortage.

Who would want to put in all of the efforts there is to become a doctor when your income is regulated? When people parrot healthcare is a right are not think of the rights of the doctors and nurses.

Isn't it so strange that these deeply compassionate democrats, like Bernie, never mention any of this?  It's all puppy dogs and ice cream according to them.  The reality is they don't want people to know all the pros and cons ... they just want to preach supposed pros ... and most of their pros are distortions.

What is keeping you from getting dual citizenship?

I know right.  I want to see faith move there and wait 39 weeks to have orthopedic surgery ... that's the median too ... it is even longer than that in 50 percent of the cases ... and come tell us how awesome the care is, lol.

This 60 percent bankruptcy number ... it is so dishonest it is sickening.

Fact is most people in this country live paycheck to paycheck.  Very few have 6 months of savings in cash.  Given this, if one is simply unable to work for any extended period of time, that alone is going to cause severe financial hardship.  If you are just getting by as it was and now you are 4 months, sat behind in bills, it might not be possible to get out and you might be in a situation where every month you are going backwards.  Maybe even if you do go back to work you aren't making as much money as you were before.

^^^ that is the reality of a lot of people who declare bankruptcy.

So, you are being fooled again.

Eff I wouldn't want to read someone pointing out my stupidity daily either, if I were you.  So we agree on something for once.
