Found this, been looking for a place to post it.

This is an archived article, I didn't get a paywall.  Note date, 1983, which was a time when both  laws and public opinions were very much different than today. As a for instance, in 1983 19 year old's could legally consume alcohol in Florida both beer and mixed drinks. Many of the clubs were lax on checking ID's and younger kids would often be served.

I agree that he tokk the coward's way out. I am not like some who believe he is still alive. Child molesters and child murders life expectancy in prison is relatively short.

He took the only way out, he didn't think he did anything wrong yet at the same time knew that he was "goin down" for his money not only couldn't save him this time but that it had become his enemy.

And I'm going to take a guess that those "kiddies" of Jeffery's weren't kiddies at all but rather some sort of tweener hybrids. Kinda like ready willing and able to be exploited by anyone, hey a rich guy, even better.

That'll probably **** a few folks here off.

During the early sixties, my Civics teacher required his classes to read the Sunday paper editorial pages and be prepared to answer questions regarding the commentary, letters to the editor etc. I remain grateful to him to this day because those pages helped me become a bullsht detector, a skill that would make life easier.

Also in that newspaper section was the social page which featured weddings, deaths and anniversaries. Anniversaries became a topic of interest due to the age differences of some the husbands and wives who had become married +/- the turn of the century and then again after WWI and WWII as the soldiers came marching home.

27 year old men marrying 14, 15 year old girls was quite common and to keep it fair there were also more than a few female cradle robbers back then.

So, a 17 going on 30 girl is just not gonna pass for a kiddie in my book. Not then, not now not no how.

This lady's photos graced the walls of Vietnam's barracks, clubs and were even displayed on sandbags at LZ's and became among the most famous Playboy centerfold photos of all time.

She was 17 when those photos were taken, going on eighteen. That ain't no kiddie and Miss Myers was not a one off, there were  many more like her then and  even more like her now.
