Anywhere from $1100- 2000 according to my mechanic friend and that is not counting labor.  If not more depending on the year of the Ford 250. As I have said, I take my vehicles to experts to be worked on.
Now have many engines have you rebuilt in vehicles? I know enough to take mine to mechanics to be fixed.

That is his estimate $90.00 an hour. Geez, must it be spelled out to you.  That is what he charges for labor and what he even charges for an estimate. It is how they make their living. Now tell us all how much does it cost to fix that engine in that Ford 250 with a 7.3 engine?

No, does anyone?  Why don't you tell us all how long it would take? That is his standard rate barring any issues . You do realize that a mechanic has to make a living also.

I did answer it. I told you what he charges so why don't you answer it. How much does it cost to have an engine done in a Ford 250 with a 7.3 engine. You seem to think that a mechanic shouldn't charge a rate for an estimate and for their labor if they work on it. I told you it varies. I am sure it also varied whether they work for a dealership or if they own their own garage. Now why don't you answer the question. 
I am no mechanic which is why I take mine to one who specializes in that time be worked on. All mechanics make a good living. Look how much it would cost if it was an electric vehicle to fix. It is their time, their labor and the parts to fix any vehicle.

Obviously,  she thinks I would know all about fixing a vehicle.  I don't and neither does my husband. It is why we go to reputable mechanics.  I use to tell kids that my friend who is a mechanic that he has all these degrees to work on vehicles and that those are his college degrees. I always told kids that having a trade certificate is just as valuable if not more so than a college degree. Everyone has a speciality in trade work and the certicates to show for it. It is also why we when we buy vehicles we get a warranty and sometimes an extended warranty. When my Encore had an oxygen sensor go out on it, it was under warranty still. The only thing that has ever gone out on it since we bought it brand new in 2018.
