They have an enrollment of 603 students. They are 95.4% White, 2.2% Hispanic, 2% Multiracial, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander and 0% Native American. The Math speaks for itself.

A school located in a state that is 87% white, 3% Hispanic, 1% Multiracial, 7% African American,  >1% Asian, >1% Pacific Islander and >1% Native American.
Park Hills, the city Covington Catholic Highschool is located in has @ the same demographic makeup.

By your logic, the State of Kentucky is now considered racist cause it has more white people.  But you're correct, the "math", when taken in context as the racial makeup of the state and city as a whole, does speak for itself. As we can see they closely match the demographic of the school. Hard to fill every school in the US with "equal" amounts of blacks/whites when they only make up 15% of the US population, but that don't make something 'racist'.

Also, I don't think most blacks send their kids to a private Catholic School to begin with, so there is that 'cultural' metric to consider.  Can we now label blacks 'religious intolerant', since we're making huge leaps in logic in our anti-white propaganda?

It would only be "racial equality" doing so, right?

First of all, let's understand one thing. I never said Covington Catholic was or is racist.

Now, based on your facts let's look at the reality. If CCHS was compatable to Kentucky as a whole in racial equality wouldn't the overall figures also be comparable? There's a huge difference between 95.4% and 87% and there's an even larger difference between 7% and 0.2%. If the equality ratio were more in line with the overall Kentucky ratio, rather than 1 African American student, there would be 42.

However, let's look at a couple of other notable private male Catholic schools in Kentucky for a comparison. St. Xavier has an overall student population of 1346. The breakdown is as follows:

White - 90.6%
Hispanic - 2.4%
Multiracial - 2.3%
African American - 1.7%
Asian - 1.5%
Native American - 1.1%
Pacific Islander - 0.4%
^^^ That's probably more in line with the population figures for Kentucky.

For comparison sake, let's look at another all male private Catholic school in Kentucky. The breakdown for Trinity High School is as follows:

Student Diversity
White - 86.5%
African American - 6.5%
Hispanic - 2.6%
Multiracial - 2.1%
Asian - 2%
Native American - 0.3%
Pacific Islander - 0.1%
Unknown - 0%
^^^ That's right in line with Kentucky statistics.

Just for comparison sake, I'll also note the tuition figures for all 3 schools are drastically different. While both St.X and Trinity have a tuition of $13,000+, CCHS only has a tuition of $8,060.

Now, let's be realistic. Blackout games and whiteout games have been around a long time. People dress in the corresponding colors, they wear wigs, and in some situations, they also use paint. It's not in any way intended to be racial oriented. It's merely a motivational tool to boost team spirit and designed to be fun, not critical of any particular race. However, painting one's face black has always been considered a racial or derogatory act towards people of color. You can flip that coin however you want but the fact remains, if any action can be interpretated as offensive it should not be done. That's true for CCHS and every school in the United States. If schools are going to have blackout games, they need to restrict the code so that face painting in that manner is excluded.

Personally, I don't know if CCHS is racist or not and to be perfectly honest, I really don't care.

Further, I don't care how you or anyone else looks at it, I feel those kids were acting disrespectful at that protest. That's my opinion. You'll not change it and I doubt anything I say will change your opinion. I happen to believe a difference of opinion gives us the opportunity to be individuals. Have a nice read.  :)

I don't understand your point in mentioning other schools racial demographics, unless it's to prove my point that a place with less blacks will have less racial diversity within it's schools. Since both those schools you mentioned are in Louisville, Ky, a city that has a 32% black population. More blacks within an area would naturally equate to the probability that more blacks would be enrolled in a private Catholic school.

If we drop the percentages and look at the raw numbers (estimated 2016) Park Hills, Ky Has 238 blacks, compared with Louisville's 140,000.  Finding more blacks who are/would send their kids to a private Catholic School in Louisville raises by order of magnitude given the population. And explains why there is a little more variance, but still in line, with the states racial demographic in Park Hills.

"However, painting one's face black has always been considered a racial or derogatory act towards people of color." --ICNO

You mean only when white people do it, right?  That seems to be the ongoing MO of all the anti-white rhetoric. Saying whites shouldn't put black on their face for school colors and calling them racists- sorry, "offensive" if they do, amounts to nothing more than a grandstanding witch-hunt to fuel the radical left wing political base into a frenzy. We already see how dangerous this is with the kids being threatened physically... over wearing school colors.  Talk about unhinged.

"if any action can be interpretated as offensive it should not be done." --ICNO

So, if a group of people come up to you and tells you that your breathing is "offending" them, are you going to stop, or does common sense and logic kick in that you are doing nothing wrong and continue to breathe?  Just the same, those kids are doing nothing wrong.

Now that I pointed out the absurdity in your 'logic' with a little bit of humor, let's go one step further and see how much you really believe in what you say, or is it all just a bunch of virtue signaling. Can you hold yourself to the same standard as you want others to be held?  I find you posting on this forum to be offensive, can you please stop?    I'm going to make a guess and say you won't, and this just highlights the hypocrisy of it all. The old "Do as I say, not as I do" Jedi mind trick.

"Personally, I don't know if CCHS is racist or not and to be perfectly honest, I really don't care." --ICNO

Going to have to call this into question. Why else would you make a comment on CCHS subject, and say they shouldn't do it cause it's view as "racist", sorry, "offfensive" if you really didn't care? It's obvious you have some concern and cared enough to voice your opinion. No need to be shy - I don't bite.

To your last few comments. I'm not here to change anyone's opinions. That's on them, out of ignorance or knowledge they can come to their own conclusions. It's all in good fun and I've enjoyed everyone's opinions, posts, views, subject matter and cognitive dissonance! :)

Thank you or your response, ICNO.

If we are going to call out racism due to a political event than maybe we should quit having Revolutionary and Civil War reenactments. I mean everyone gets so easily offended over something so stupid as painting a black face which has been around forever. Whether the kids acted disrespectful at a political event or not, whether there school is all white or not, the fact is racism exists because of the narrow mindedness of people. I don't know whether the kids acted disrespectful or not but I do believe the blame should go on all sides. It takes 2 to start an argument so there is plenty of blame to go along.
Oh and as far as a lot of minorities don't send their kids to private schools in Kentucky,  I think it depends on the area. Owensboro has 3% of the school population is minority. Louisville has about 8% and Lexington has about 8% also. Now, it is has always been public high schools have a considerable higher rate of minorities.

First video- you can't definitively recognize anyone in it. So your statement it "proves" anything is laughable at best.

Second, the Snopes article states -

"Based on comments in the BluegrassPreps message board, the intent of the black body paint was not racial but was instead a school tradition related to “black out” games, during which fans wore black to support the team. That being said, at least one person in the thread posited a connection to racist minstrel shows from the 19th century that used blackface on white actors to depict African Americans unfavorably. “That guy on the right looks like he might have been researching minstrelsy before the game,” one post read."

.....So, one person "supposedly" making a "racist" gesture, posting a blackface minstrel show, is grounds to blanket the whole school as racist, because of a school tradition that has nothing to do with "racist blackface" and dismissively ignore anyone else's incidents as racist too because they came from said school.

Real legit logic, Der.

One is too many.  Whether it was one or more, the school allowed that kid to attend the event, stand on the sidelines in traditional blackface, and scream threateningly at black players.  Inappropriate.   Adults should know better

P.S.  Sorry for the late reply.  Saturdays are busy for me.

I'm still trying to figure out why we need to stop Revolutionary and Civil War reenactments due to dangerous anti-white rhetoric (racism) at a politic event?

Unless you are implying that white's created the 'anti-white' racism with their 'white' racism, because in no way non-whites are racists until they experience 'white' racism.  So, it's all 'whitey's' fault again?  Can you please elaborate more?

Also, I'd like to ask why do you think people are "narrow-minded" if they are racists?  Specifically, what makes them wrong being "narrow-minded". Do you believe there is no evolutionary (biological), or even Biblical grounds (if you want to go this way) of why the races will never coexist in one big happy utopia?

I'm asking because "narrow mindedness" is a really vague term to use, that really means nothing in terms of right or wrong.  I mean, I can make the statement that you are 'narrow minded' because you won't let a child molester babysit your kids.  So, as we can see with the example, "narrow mindedness" doesn't  necessarily mean somebody is wrong for being the way they are with their so called "narrow mindedness".

I personally see nothing wrong with the reenactments but seeing as how many feel that having a black face at an event is being racist  that is why I mentioned it. People who tend to be racists tend to narrow minded if they think that their race is the only race in the world. I tend to look at it that God made the human race and didn't say that the wihite, black, red, pink or purple is better than any other race. And no, I wouldn't let some child pervert babysit my kids and if that makes me narrow minded than so be it. I prefer to call it caring for my kids.

No worries. I'm sure you are busy virtue signaling your stance on identify politics on the Native American forums that they are racist for wearing "traditional blackface" when they dress up to cheer their culture (team). That's what I like about you, stamping out all racism everywhere, not just 'whitey's'!  /s

According to the dictionary Narrow Mindedness means "Not willing to listen or tolerate other peoples view, prejudiced" I think by that very definition one can construe that as being wrong

Thank you, Mrs. Webster.

Narrow mindedness "Not willing to listen or tolerate other people view, prejudiced"

Prejudice(d) -"Prejudice is prejudgment, or forming an opinion before becoming aware of the relevant facts of a case. The word is often used to refer to preconceived, usually unfavorable, judgments toward people or a person because of gender, political opinion, social class, age, disability, religion, sexuality, race/ethnicity, language, nationality, or other personal characteristics."

This is probably why I asked her if she believed there wasn't any evolutionary or Biblical bases (facts) for racism. And according to her answer of which one she subscribes to, if any, would determine my reply to her.

Yes, my last example was somewhat loose on the direct definition, but most people don't use it verbatim in it's meaning. With you around to keep me on my toe's, I'll make sure I'm more careful in the future.

But her answer tells me she is not stupid, and is not wrong in her answer. No more than you can say people who subscribe to evolutionary racism are wrong (It's basis is taught in school , you know). Biblically speaking, since that was her answer, I'm still deciding if I want to engage her now or wait till I've slept and be mentally prepared. Hopefully this reply isn't too scattered brained. I've been up all night. (Sorry Purplelady1040, I don't mean to make you wait for a reply)

But, Joanna, good try.

I would say that most people do have a degree of prejudicism or racism in them. Do I? Possibly but considering I have 2 children adopted from foreign countries, family members who are mixed, neighbors who are of different races, religious beliefs and even family members and friends who are of different sexual orientations than I would say I probably have more tolerance towards those. I try to treat all people how I want to be treated with respect regardless what they believe, don't believe or where they are in life. Like my next door neighbor who is an awesome elderly black lady,  God said to love us  all not just this person or that person but that is me.

Exactly, I have a hard time understanding the purpose of racism, or of being intolerant of other peoples views/opinions, however I do find myself to be short of patience with those who feel the need to downgrade women, Gays, Native Americans, people who abuse kids, animals, and the elderly I simply cant fathom why they exist

Why would it have an evolutionary or biblical basis, racism is taught, I hardly think it is a evolutionary process, are animals racist?, furthermore I hadn't noticed Jesus teaching racism but with any organized religion you run into problems so that might be iffy at best. Nice try dear

I can't either and it seems these days people have more compassion for someone who abuses animals than they do someone who abuses a child. I don't like people who abuse anyone.
