Lonely and scared, hilarious.

There are a few bone heads in the Villages.

https://www.thevillagesdemocrats.org/

When one can be prosecuted for thought and desire, you should be scared.  Maybe there's a Volksgerichtshof in the future.
You didn't read first did you? Or you would have seen this__Our Villages Democratic Club is a fast-growing club of approximately 2200 members, mostly registered Democrats, but also left-leaning Independents with similar values!   We are a social club with a strong base of activist Democrats.

And again, the Villages mindset extends far beyond Thee Villages encompassing most of Lake/Sumter and Marion Counties creating real problems in those counties elections when R candidates need not campaign anywhere but Thee Villages to win a seat.

2.2% Dems, Hah ROFLMAO.

True that.  Rush/FOX has broken up many friendships and families over the years and gone a long way towards making certain among us much too mean. Also correct on retirement, many formerly dependent on unions or state/municipal jobs for life suddenly hate such.

Here's glimpse of a 100,000 person plus retirement community with it's own radio, TV and newspaper

http://www.thevillagesteaparty.org/

RxUSH broke his own family up and is not the "self made man" he says when he is high on the air, he was positioned there by the military industrial complex as he was a shock jock type and the old style conservatives wanted nothing to do with that. That kkklown got lucky, he was a total nobody drifting the country for disc jockey work when that fell in his lap..

Isnt that around Orlando? I lived in that region and barely heard of the place back in 1989-90 but it was nothing back then...

The Villages began as a doublewide park called Orange Blossom Gardens, it was located on beautiful pastureland
in the Lady Lake FL area just to the SE of Ocala Fl. It was purchased by the Morse family and began to take off during the early 80's after the original plaza was completed and the golfing operation expanded. It was always political but the present fervor has its roots in cable TV, talk radio and the Morse family's devotion to Republican politics. It was Gary Morse's Cayman registered yacht that caused grief for Mitt Romney during the 2012 election season.

Since Obama was elected the political tone at The Villages and nearby retirement developments has become almost unbearable, nowhere is free from one way political discussion, right leaning to far right politics permeates the air. the Villagers have become known as haters.

A second Morse Family community has been started to the South of The Villages near the FL Turnpike and Clermont FL. It's being said that this one will attempt to be apolitical__the locals aren't buying that.

The Rs have a two to one majority there, for sure, but really not the right-wing bubble of scared and lonely people as described.

I never said scared or lonely, only that the lions share of those who retire there pay handsomely to be among their own kind, white, mostly midwesterners who enjoyed the final era of jobs with good pensions and benefits for life.

Btw, my daughter's in-laws live there and we visit occasionally. I really don't like the place.  It's all self-contained out in the middle of nowhere. It kind of reminded me of a military base.

15,000 Americans died so GOP governors could stick it to Obama.

https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a28472403/15000-americans-died-medicaid-expansion-obamacare/

Pretty well researched article.

That awkward moment when thoughtful readers come to the realization that it was the supreme court that allowed the passage of this law (5-4), that all the more liberal leaning judges (Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan) voted for the current  iteration that this article is condemning.

A law supposedly so bad, that according to this article there was a collective "sigh" that drowned out "that one part of the courts decision". So the writer of this articles clearly indicates  nobody supporting it really cared what was in the law or what was feasibly passable that they pushed long as they (democrats)  got a "victory" for, you know .... that one president (the black one).

But somehow, it's those (dirty racist) Republican Governors that were not bought and paid for, and I do quote; these governors violated one of the fundamental tenets of state government that date back to the dawn of human greed: they refused FREE MONEY! The writer of this article, Charles P. Pierce, actually writes out in full disclosure that these Governors are not bought and paid for (as quoted above), that they were beholden to their constituents wishes that put them in office and not to the misrepresented "FREE MONEY!" ACA.

...If only we had more politicians like that.

Also,

You state this article is a "pretty well researched article". So well infact that they hide the information supporting it behind what looks to be a pay-wall (subscription).  I usually don't mind looking further into what somebody claims, but there is a limit to my searching for information when it's the claimants position to do so -Which so far hasn't been supported. All we have so far is an excerpt of  data  that could be very easily shown out of context to push an agenda.

I'd really like to read the "published paper", do you have an actual working link to this information?

Donald Trump to visit The Villages August 6.

It will be blistering hot and there is no arena__should be a real short speech. There is The Sharon   https://thesharon.com/     but it's not very large.

W visited years ago and it got real ugly with old men in golf carts duking it out over protest signs.

A short speech would be nice.

I can see some of those adolescent old coots duking it out. My son-in-law got into it with one of them who made a remark about his son's behavior.

They prowl the Publix and Lowes parking lots on the lookout for phony disabled parkers and service dogs. There's an entire section on the website for bogus service dogs.

https://www.insidethebubble.net/politics/

There are several political forums going on up there, you must register and they'll ban or even attack you if you pizz them off.

Silly old people.

I have been to Eustis but that was 30 years ago, I am sure it is a different place today as well. Been to Leesburg, Ocala and those places as well.. The Villages existed back then but it was nothing. Deltona seems to be a similar place and it was very little back 30 years ago and it blew up big time in population...

What is your take on Lakeland? I read about that place and seen pictures and most reviews and various forum comments put the city in a good light and a nice place to visit but I had been there on three occasions in 1989-90 and around 2000 but my 1989 expierience with that place was it was the most ghetto looking of cities of its size in Florida and looked heavy industrial in that day. I guess cities can change but that place was no tourist destination back in that day...

Eustis is in Lake County FL and the Lake commissioners just voted 3/2 to accept a controversial confederate statue of a guy who likely never set foot in Lake County.  The county's mayors are real pizzed off about the decision.

Lake has a long history of racism at it's finest.  https://psmag.com/social-justice/the-most-dangerous-place-to-be-black-64206

Lakeland (Polk County) remains commercial/industrial, that area is epicenter to Florida's vast agricultural shipping and inbound warehousing operations. There are some very nice areas though, plenty of lakes, golf and Joker Marchant Stadium where every day is a good day win or lose.
