Other than being one of the wettest years I can remember Jamestown is doing OK.
They opened the National Comedy Center last year (which is fitting) :) and three new Hotels in the immediate area.
And at least a dozen new mom and pop bars and restaurants.

Where I live; Lakewood which is a suburb, Cummins Engine is going gangbusters and the same for The Southern Tier Brewing company, they've got some great brews and they are national/international now. Not sure if they've made it down to your way yet but if they have at least try an IPA, good stuff.

People learned to use tourism up here once the industrial age died, it had nothing at all to do with the Orange ones tax cuts. Actually his tax cuts hurt the majority of his followers, but I guess it's human nature to live and learn.

The weather is really messing with my riding and general lake stuff though.

Other than all that we probably still have more Rebel flags than you do, and of course the usual influx of migrant workers from Puerto Rico, who are taking all the jobs from the flag wavers.
God I can't wait till they Build That Wall! so they can stop the Puerto Ricans and find something new to cry about. LOL

PS: most all of the PR's come in on a plane but don't tell my neighbors
Lady that works at the post office told me Puerto Rico was in Mexico when I was mailing a package there. I said no it's an island and she said in Mexico right. I just said yes, so I guess the wall will keep the
Puerto Ricans out.
