President Trump plans to announce reciprocal tariffs during a Wednesday event at the White House Rose Garden.
The event will include members of his cabinet and would be the first Rose Garden event of his presidency, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters. Leavitt said the president would not be deterred by the market reaction to his proposals.
“The president has always said that the stock market is a snapshot of a moment in time and that he's doing what's best for Main Street and Wall Street will work out just fine,” she said.
