Obama our next president or something like that. It had over a million posts. It was under the US Politics forum.
It was Barack Obama Your Next President and it was on various Topix forums, 15 or more including the AA forum and all the Tribune Media Forums. It began the day that Obama was elected and when Topix disappeared there were about 1.4 million comments, another 3 or 4 hundred thousand were removed along the way some by Topix Adm.  and others by the request of the poster. Tribune Media owned a portion of Topix then and popular threads were carried by all the Tribune properties. The thread was born as an editorial piece on the Hampton Roads Daily Press. It was likely the largest, longest running political thread in internet history. Early on it was a thread for racists and while at times it mellowed in the end it remained a thread for racists and trolls.
