I wish I could remember the details of the New Yorker hotel and Tesla....it's been a day or so-far! Anyways, he erected a electrical generator in this hotel's basement, this was where he lived and eventually died. This generator allowed this hotel to offer modern amenities to it's guest, found in no other hotel at this time! He assisted in its maintenance on a daily basis and it remained in service until the 1980's!
Just across the street, was the train station. Ten stories beneath its ground, was the DC (electrical current) substation. It supplied power for over 2,000 miles of track, installed throughout the Northeast corridor of the U.S.!
I always considered these two items, as Telsa's way of showing Edison, who the real boss really was! He was indeed the smartest!
