I really needed that after my faux pas earlier.
Indeed! He’s not the only one.

I'm the one who cursed out a guy who's mom just died. I'm making you look great.

From fracturing my own vertebrae, recovering from that at 91 would have been a horribly painful experience.

Always, reinforcing your pain and suffering, fascinating. She was 4'7", 90lbs , never COMPLAINED!

You appear to thrive on it....

Here's my point: You were right to keep the surgeon away from your mother.
Anything else you got out of that,is on you.

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait for spring. I liked running down to the lake before all of the ice had gone. The water was always really clear and still at that time of year. I imagined that must be what the Arctic Ocean would be like.  The lake was at the end of the street I grew up on. When you got halfway down the block you could feel the air would be chilled all of the sudden from the ice.  There'd be huge piles of ice on the shore from the wind blowing it in.  I always thought it was too bad that lake was so small. But when I got older, a friend from Arizona was with me and said she had never seen a lake that big, amazed that she couldn't see anything but the water all the way to the horizon. In the scheme of things, it always seemed like a pool between lakes. But I guess from the perspective of someone not from this region it seemed different.

Arizona has a pretty big hole in the ground though.

Back surgeries don't turn out well. I've known too many people to have problems after.

Talk about everything being brown. I lived in Arizona for a few years. They have a real earth tone motif out that way. When I finally had had enough and moved home it was maybe early June.  I remember looking out the window on the ride home from Metro Airport and being shocked by how green and colorful everything was after having spent 3 years in the desert.  What happens here from winter to summer is miraculous.  Hundreds of billions of tons of vegetation just appears spontaneously in a period of a couple of weeks.  It goes from looking like the surface of the Moon to a jungle almost overnight.  That's what makes bearing winter worth while.  Winter's the bill come due for getting to live here.

East Texas is very green as well. But you don't have to freeze your nuts off to get it.

Yeah. I saw that.  Really nice up that way. Utah's nice too.
