Conference? Is that what you call it when you and your little asspals get together for a circle jerk?

No good YouTube's, a favorite spot in the Village, very rich history. Probably closed by now.

I had an interesting day yesterday.  I was digging post holes for the foundation of the new greenhouse and I kept hearing crazy hound dog barking coming from the conservation land that abuts my property.  At first I assumed someone was just running their dogs back there (no one is supposed to be back there).  The barking continued for hours until eventually two little beagle dogs strolled up onto my property.  One of them is an adult and the other is about 4-5 months old.  The older dog is wearing a collar with a name and TWO phone numbers.  I called the numbers and got a man in Tennessee.  It was his name and his number but he claims to know nothing about two beagles in Ohio.  Weird.  I can't wrap my head around how/why that might have happened.  I googled the guy's name and he appears to show/breed/train coon hounds.  I suppose it is possible that these dogs once belonged to him, but he didn't indicate during our phone conversation that he had any idea why these beagles might be wearing his collar.  He didn't tell me anything about being a coon hound guy.  I found that out myself.  This, to me, points to the fact that he knew at least something about these dogs and neglected to share that info.  But if you were trying to dump dogs why would you leave a collar with your name and number on it?  It's a mystery...and I have two dogs that I can't keep.  I'm going to have to call the dog warden in a few hours.

I bet he got rid of them because they wouldn't hunt,  that is so.irritating that he did that and that you have to call the animal warden because someone dumped them. We have had to call animal control also when strays appear the person doesn't know anything about them. I didn't want you to think I was criticizing you for calling animal control.

Our dog pound has a very low kill rate.  They send most beagles to rescue.  It doesn't make the decision any easier however.

Ethics Report Finds Elaine Chao Used Trump Cabinet Post to Promote Family Interests

Most of Chao’s questionable behavior revolved around her father, James Chao, and his shipping business, the Foremost Group, which made its mark transporting raw materials, like coal and iron, to China, and continues to do extensive work with Chinese state-owned businesses. The Shanghai-born patriarch of the family started the business after emigrating to the U.S. in the 1950s, but has since turned the operation over to Chao’s younger sister, Angela Chao. As the secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao was charged with overseeing the American shipping industry. What could possibly go wrong?

One of my last dogs was a Harrier that the car in front of me on this dirt road in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night dumped. Lucky I happened to be there.
Mandy is a Treeing Walker Coonhound that someone dumped at a high kill shelter. I happened to wander in there at precisely the right moment.  In both cases they were puppies. In both cases they were dumped likely by some scumbag breeder who found them untrainable. In both cases I kept them for the rest of their lives.
People that dump dogs should be summarily hanged...I have a rope.

I got one of the better dogs I have had in a similar fashion.  Found dog in my yard, fed dog, see lost dog poster at the local market with pic of dog and phone number, call number and a male voice gruffy said " We didn't lose no dog".

Come on. She's married to a US Senator. I'm sure Mr. McConnell makes sure that no breach of ethics for monetary gain occurs.

GOP pulling out all the stops to delay COVID-19 package

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/541541-gop-pulling-out-all-the-stops-to-delay-covid-19-package

Senator Ron Johnson told colleagues Wednesday that he would force the Senate clerks to read the entirety of Senate Democrats’ substitute relief bill, which is expected to span more than 600 pages, something that will delay the floor debate and amendments by 10 hours.

He also is trying to muster enough Republican colleagues to prolong a series of amendment votes as long as possible.
