I didn't know what a K-Mart was until I lived in Kentucky.  Never saw one before. Saw my first auto record payer there also. I guess 8 tracks knocked them out.

K-Mart was created in 1962 from SS Kresge (sp?) who had a store in Bluefield WV until Kmart came to that town..

DYK that Kmart, Walmart and Target were all created in 1962 and all were spun off from the five and dime and were positioned for the suburban shopper?
