Yes...CD was very protective of her identity and a very private person. Considering the truly crazy people we were dealing with on Topix, that wasn’t such a bad idea.

Esp for someone like her who lived near many of the psycho fanatics.

Agreed. That’s why I’m not much for social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

Those are actually easy to control providing one only adds persons they know. My original page i added anyone and it was all public. This caused many problems and eventually ended that FB account. My current account, i have kept very small with majority of persons being known to me. It prevents many problems.

That may be true but there are bad blood among a few people that a clean forum cannot resolve and the said problems may occur elsewhere, like FB Twitter and other places people's lives can get ruined there. Almost everyone here has an account at one or both places and will go thru lists of friends and family of an adversary and deliver dirt.

The best thing is to never use FB to contact an adversary or untrustworthy person  who has no good intentions, 80% of Topix troubles regarding subject has involved a social media site as well...

That and keep all posts and pics for friends only and keep the friend list private. If one is unsure of someone on their list, can always restrict them.

Thanks for the helpful hints, but after the altercation I went through on a social media website, and having my name tarnished, doesn’t give me any good impressions or vibes.

It’s hard to recover your good name and honesty back from some who came to know me through the few social media sites I was on, I was burned by someone I thought I could trust. But found out I could not.

Psychological issues are numerous on many social networks, so I at least try to guard against that more heavily these days.

I have some trust issues, but I am very honest and helpful to those that have gained my trust.

Thank you for your time.

Been through that in social media and RL. The fact is, a real friend is not going to believe random gossip and lies about you. They will come to you and discuss, get your side and get the facts before making a decision.. When such fickle people are lost is really no loss at all. Consider it a favour done that these people are out of your life for they were never there for you to begin with.

We have all the old flooring removed. The new stuff has been delivered, but has to acclimatize to the house for a few weeks before they put it down. All that means is that we have to live in a construction mess for the rest of the month.

I’ve been seriously thinking about it. They are coming tomorrow to take all of the flooring out of the box and stack it in the living room. I had no idea there was this much prep work involved.
