That is because more than likely your school didn't have a fall break like they do now. We always started the last week of August when I was in school but didn't have a fall break and got out before Memorial Day. I am not a proponent of fall break because to me it gives the kids the adage that you work 9 weeks and get a break. In the real world, you don't get a break every 9 weeks.
Good idea, getting a break every 3 months, coming back REFRESHED and ready to go, being more productive instead of a tired zombie.
Nope, it isn't, all it tells kids that every 9 weeks that they get a break and in the real world that doesn't happen. Most teachers would prefer cutting it out, start later in August and get out before Memorial Day. Most parents with kids don't get a break every 9 weeks to take off and go somewhere.
What I mean is, that's how the REAL world should work.
It does if one builds up the vacation time from some jobs but most places can't afford to let their employees have a break every 9 weeks. Work would never get done.
That's bull! 1 or s2 weeks a year doesn't leave much room in a year to build up through out the year.
Then obviously you never have worked a job that let's you build up hours to take off. I was able to take off several times throughout the year because I could build the hours up and take off. And if my hours went over than they could be taken away from you, so I always used mine to keep them where I could take off several.times a year.
Nope, just holidays, 1 personal day, 2 sick days, 2 week vacation.
My job I got overtime hours which always let me take off, sick hours plus vacation hours, great pay and a 401K.
Your lucky.
when I worked I had to work everyd day but one...
Kids went back last Wednesday here.
