I prefer the mountains over the Beach. I love Boone and Blowing Rock the weather is great in June and July there and Gatlinburg is Mytle Beach in the mountaiains with all those billboards all over the place...

Went to Chattanooga in 2010, visited Ruby Falls and Rock City, on the Georgia side, where you allegedly can see 8 states though it is disputed...

To be exact, seeing KY and VA are disputed but you can see a couple hundred miles in front of you there...

Been to Lookout Mts. and Rock City a ton of times but we are going to Ruby Falls and they do have a nice little zoo there. Been to the aquarium there also. We are going to take a train ride through Civil War countryside.
