American LGBTQ+ travelers banned from docking in Turkey during upcoming cruise due to moral standards

They should just leave people alone.  I doubt LGBTQ travelers are walking around naked and effing in the streets.  Turkey is more moderate than a lot of Muslim countries but could choose to be more of a leader and set an example for others.

None of it is real.  We still haven't figured everything out in terms of the universe.  I doubt anyone 2000 years ago knew all the answers and how life came to exist and how humanity started.  We know evolution is real ... you'd think the Bible or Quran or any ancient religion would have mentioned this, if they knew all the answers.  Even if there was a great flood and such, humans and related species that we interbred with, were around long before any great flood, which if anything were local events and not a global flood.  Ancient people didn't know what was going on worldwide.  They had no clue.  Even the Roman Empire only had distant relations with India and China.

People back then had no clue about germ theory, had no clue about DNA, and no clue about so many things that we now know, but they somehow figured out humanity's origins and how it all started?  It's all fiction.  It may be loosely based on historical facts, but none of it is real.

On its face, Noah's ark and many things in the bible cannot possibly be true.  There is no way possible for some person back in those times to build an ark and put all the animals in the world on it, so they survive a "global flood."

People didn't even travel that far from home back then and would have never ever encountered many of the animals that live all over the world, much less be able to capture them and put them on a boat.  You'd think Jesus and his disciples would have mentioned this, if they had all the answers.

Did Noah rescue polar bears and penguins too and koalas and kangaroos and lamas?  He went to South America, Australia, and the arctic and rescued all of them on his boat?  If Jesus and the New Testament had all the answers, you'd think they would have mentioned that this cannot possibly be true.  With what we all know about the world today, it's common sense.

Magellan didn't event circumnavigate the globe until the 1500s, but supposedly Noah did it many thousands of years before, while picking up every animal in the world to put on his boat?  You'd think someone smarter than me, who claimed to have known how it all started would have mentioned one time in the new testament that this would not even have been remotely possible.

Too many just use their belief in fantasy books as an excuse to hate and persecute others too.

It's probably mostly what you grew up watching.  My dad was always really into Chicago teams.

The NBA is the one sport I don't care about anymore.  Nothing could match or top the Jordan years and living in Chicago-land.  I didn't watch baseball hardly at all until recently after the cubs won the World Series in 2016, too.  It was like a weight being lifted.  I remember my German great grandpa listening to games on his headphones and calling them a bunch of bums.  He still listened to them.

My sister was talking about his German singing club.  We used to go to the "German picnic" every summer where all the men would sing and we'd cook out.  I guess they went to Germany on trips and sang.

The cubs winning it all was like a generations of disappointment lifted.  Then of course, nothing lasts for ever, and you have to rebuild the team as guys leave or get old.  So, I hadn't been following or watching much baseball since they won it all.  At least they won one.  Anymore in my lifetime will be gravy.

Last I saw there's a big labor dispute.
That next year might start with a lockout

I had just bet like a total of $40 bucks on the USA to win on 3 different parlays.  Then I am watching the pregame and the announcer say the Belgians beat the sh1t out of us in a friendly match earlier this year.  I immediately told my son, I sure wish I knew that before I placed my bets.  I wouldn't have bet anything.

It makes sense that they lost.  Belgium was clearly the better team.  Our defense was atrocious.  I could have prevented that one goal, the one with the whole team just standing around the ball and no one making a play for it right in front of our goal.  You didn't need to be the greatest player ever to prevent that goal.  Just have a pair of legs and go get the ball. It's like they had never played soccer before.

That one goal where keeper was so far from net he couldn't use his hands.
He missed ball one kick and left easy shot on goal with  nobody in it.

Noah's world was much smaller.

There was a flood that created the Black Sea. Noah is probably folklore.

Former FL governor candidate Andrew Gillum arrested on drug charges

Andrew Gillum, who narrowly lost a bid for Florida governor, is facing drug charges after being arrested in Alabama, law enforcement records show.

Gillum, the former mayor of Tallahassee who lost to Ron DeSantis in the 2018 gubernatorial race, was arrested by the Daphne Police Department on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, Baldwin County Sheriff's Office records show.

It's just layer on layer of folklore.  The whole thing is.

Even if the great flood was based on that, why add that he took the time to capture all these wild animals to put on his boat.  I could see farm animals and perhaps some birds landing on his boat.  If there was going to be a huge flood by me the last of my worries would be to build a monster sized wooden boat and then wasting time to capyure 2 of every wild animal near to me, lol.

I am not saying there are not some good teachings.  The honest truth is the only reason we are here is stupid luck and evolution.  We have thoughts how very simple life could evolve from chemicals, which is all life is at its basic level ... chemicals ... bur other than the big bang theory, we have no clue how the universe started or why.  The religious books are fiction and not based on science and what we do know today.

It's not even people's fault hundreds or thousands of years ago that they believed this fiction.  We have learned all that we know today because we stand on the shoulders of giants.  Some people prefer to stand at their feet and belive this nonsense when they should know better today.
