They drop you from the rolls if you miss two full cycles here.

2 years?
Seems bit harsh.
Some people only vote in what they deem important elections namely often presidential elections every 4 years.
Then may not vote in given election if say well not close race, inconvenient have to pick kids up from football practice, cheerleading after work , I got sick and had to go to doctor etc.
May not vote in midterm election for representative and say senator not running in my state this time.
Might not vote in local race. I didn't vote in primary county offices because I didn't know candidates and well so I shouldn't. By fall I plan to.

I think this fairly short story explains geofence ruling better so do it.
Does say Google policy now is not sharing data except on customers devices

Justices say Constitution protects people's location history
The 6-3 decision ruled police need a warrant to get people's location data, even if it's shared with companies like Google and Apple.
https://www.politico.com/news/2026/06/29/supreme-court-location-data-ruling-00979929

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that people have an expectation of privacy from the government as their mobile devices track them throughout their daily activities, even when that information is shared with companies like Google and Apple.

The 6-3 decision in Chatrie v. United States extends Fourth Amendment protections to data that people hand over to tech companies, meaning police need a warrant to obtain it. Justices Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett and Clarence Thomas dissented.

The Trump administration argued that users did not have an expectation of privacy after voluntarily sharing their location data with companies like Google.

“An individual has a reasonable expectation of privacy in records about his cell phone’s location, and police intrude on that constitutionally protected interest when they demand the information — even though for only a limited time, and from a third-party tech company,” Justice Elena Kagan wrote for the majority.

The case involves a 2019 bank robbery in Virginia, where police arrested Okello Chatrie after using a geofence warrant to locate all devices near the scene of the crime.

Police have increasingly relied on broad search warrants to aid their investigations in the digital age — including requests to tech companies for information on anyone who searched for specific phrases or had certain types of conversations with AI chatbots.

Google has changed how it collects and stores location history, announcing in 2023 that the data would be stored directly on people’s devices rather than the company’s servers. That change prevents Google from complying with these requests for location history as it no longer holds the information.

Privacy advocates argue that such broad warrants targeting tech companies’ users are a Fourth Amendment violation because they are not narrowly tailored and could gather data on innocent people.

“Although the Court stopped short of striking down these warrants as inherently unconstitutional, we look forward to pressing lower courts to eliminate these warrants once and for all,” Andrew Crocker, the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s surveillance litigation director, said in a statement.

The case will return to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to determine whether the warrant in Chatrie’s case was properly filed.

Alito criticized Monday’s decision for failing to address the legality of the warrant in Chatrie’s case.

“Indeed, by refusing to review the one question that could have at least theoretically given Chatrie some hope of relief, the Court carefully set the stage for its planned performance: striking a pose as a great champion of privacy in the digital age. I cannot support this irresponsible escapade,” he wrote.

What do you think will happen if minimum wage is raised?  A lot of jobs that can, will be sent overseas, where they can pay people even less than 7$ an hour.  There is no perfect answer.

Easy enough, tax overseas labor at a rate that will make it far more expensive.

BREAKING: "OH MY GOD! OUCH!" Morning Joe’s Mika bursts out laughing after Fox News accidentally exposes Trump’s latest crowd size disaster at his "Great State Fair!"
Donald Trump has spent years obsessing over crowd sizes, so naturally his allies are still trying to convince America that sparse turnouts are actually massive gatherings if you just squint hard enough.
That effort hit a brick wall Monday when co-host Mika Brzezinski watched a Fox News segment defending attendance at Trump’s Freedom 250 “Great American State Fair” event and simply lost it.
Trump has claimed that 45,000 people attended his speech at the Trump-backed celebration in Washington, D.C., despite multiple reports and visual evidence suggesting the crowd was dramatically smaller.
News outlets estimated attendance at roughly 1,000 people, and photos showed that the audience occupied only a relatively small portion of the event grounds.
Still, Fox News correspondent Kevin Corke insisted viewers were getting the wrong impression.
“And sometimes the pictures really don’t tell the full story because if you look behind us you see, okay there are a couple hundred people back there,” Corke said.
“But the truth is when you make your way over here and you're in a wash of people.”
That’s when Mika lost it.
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed before bursting into laughter. “OUCH!”
Corke said it with a straight face, but the camera didn't lie.
As Corke attempted to explain that unseen multitudes were lurking somewhere beyond the lens, viewers could plainly see a large open grassy area behind him that looked considerably less like Woodstock and considerably more like a county fair that forgot to advertise.
Conservative commentator Jonah Goldberg delivered the coup de grâce.
“If only they had employees who knew how to operate cameras that could capture these images he describes,” Goldberg quipped.
For years, Trump has treated crowd sizes the way Captain Ahab treated the white whale. No matter what else is happening in the world, he always seems to circle back to proving that more people showed up for him than for anyone else.
Unfortunately for Team Trump, cameras remain stubbornly nonpartisan.

The big story is that this whole thing is looking like yet another huge theft of public money.

Only trump, and the republican party, could ruin the nation's 250th birthday.

BREAKING: HAHAHAHA! Fox News gets busted using footage of World Cup fans and pretending that it’s the crowd for Trump’s disastrous Great Fair of America that NOBODY went to!
This is beyond pathetic…
In a desperate attempt to gaslight the American people into thinking Donald Trump’s big event was more successful than it actually was, Fox News showed footage of people sitting with the caption STATE FAIR SURPRISE.
But a cursory examination makes it immediately clear that this is NOT Trump’s 250th anniversary fair – this is a FIFA World Cup fan zone held elsewhere in Washington, D.C.
It says so right on top of the screen.
We can’t say we’re surprised, but this is really a new low for Fox News. Anything to help protect poor Donnie’s widdle ego, right?

New York Stock Exchange opening bell to be rung from Oval Office for Trump Accounts launch

The New York Stock Exchange will be opened from the Oval Office next week to mark the opening of Trump Accounts, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said Monday.

“We’re having a big opening bell ceremony next week where Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange are going to ring the bell from the Oval for the first time together, and they’re doing that to celebrate the accounts,” Hassett, the director of the National Economic Council, said on CNBC.

Families will be able to start contributing to the accounts — which would provide parents of children born between 2025 and 2028 with $1,000 to invest — on July 4.

Hassett praised the accounts, which he said give every child born in the US “a stake in the game,” and suggested there’d be a political effect as well.

“It’s basically, I think, hard to be a socialist if you have capital, and so my view is that the political effect of this dynamic is going to be enormous,” Hassett said.

It is not new, not an accident, and not a new low. This is standard practice for fox and has been since they started broadcasting.
