Again government thinks they know more than medical professionals. Transgender people are easy target.
I posted this statistic on my board other day when I posted about book Raising Ryland. Study found 40% transgender had attempted suicide compared to 4.5% whole population.

FTC sues transgender care group, arguing it deceived parents and patients
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health has a leading role in determining how gender-affirming care is provided.

The Federal Trade Commission is suing the leading transgender health care group in federal court. The agency argued on Wednesday that the World Professional Association for Transgender Health made “deceptive claims” in its health care guidelines for transgender children. The group’s members include psychiatrists, surgeons, pediatricians, endocrinologists and primary care doctors who work with transgender patients.

The FTC, like the Health Department, has been on a monthslong legal tear to clamp down on providers and hospitals that offer gender-affirming care. Gender-affirming care refers to medical interventions for minors experiencing distress that their bodies do not align with their gender identity.

The agency alleged that WPATH’s trans care recommendations violate the FTC Act by misleading parents and patients about the necessity and efficacy of these treatments.

“The FTC filed a lawsuit against WPATH alleging that the organization made false and unsubstantiated claims regarding the necessity, effectiveness and safety of puberty blockers, hormones and sex-change surgeries,” said Andrew Ferguson, the FTC chair, in a news release. “Children, but especially their parents, must have complete and truthful information when making decisions to purchase medical services.”

Many of America’s leading provider groups, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, strongly support gender-affirming care. Providers have argued that transgender care can save children’s lives.

“The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is not a medical provider and has no place interfering with the process of individualized medical decision-making,” WPATH said in a statement. It said that the agency’s claims were “baseless.”

President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian both digitally signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday laying out terms for ending the war, according to U.S. officials.

The White House confirmed that Trump signed the memorandum on Wednesday while at dinner at the Palace of Versailles with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Signed digitally on Sunday by Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and witnessed by Trump.

Vance will still travel to Switzerland on Friday for a signing of the memorandum, according to a U.S. official, presumably for a ceremonial event.

The U.S. is expected to lift sanctions on Iran and unfreeze funds and assets linked to the country’s regime under the 14-point memorandum of understanding provided to NBC News by a senior U.S. official.

What's in it

The MOU stipulates that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen, with Iran agreeing to allow “safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days only,” followed by negotiations with Oman to “define the future administration” of the vital trade route, through which some 20% of the world’s oil passed before the war.

Under the agreement, the U.S. will “terminate all types of sanctions,” will “make fully available for use the frozen or restricted funds and assets,” and will begin the removal of its naval blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran also “reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons,” with a mechanism to be “mutually agreed” upon relating to its “enriched material” stockpile.

The senior U.S. official said that Iran’s commitment to the destruction of its enriched stockpile is “a major, major win for the United States of America,” adding that sanctions relief will be tied to the nuclear settlement and “to the extent” that Iran fulfills its obligations.

One point in the memorandum that could draw criticism is a commitment for the U.S. to work with regional partners to develop a plan for at least $300 billion to be distributed to Iran for “reconstruction and economic development.” The draft memorandum notes that the mechanism for the distribution of these funds will be hammered out during the 60-day negotiation period.

The senior U.S. official downplayed this point and noted that the U.S. is not required to contribute to the fund.

“What it says is that if we get to a final deal and if the Iranians behave, we will permit the sanctions relief that would allow, for example, the Emiratis to build a power plant in Iran. That’s all it says,” the senior official said. “If they do what they have to do, we will permit the investment in the reconstruction of their country.”

Lebanon remains a main sticking point and way Israel can try to thwart the deal.

One of the most delicate parts of the agreement calls for an immediate end to all fighting, including in Lebanon, where multiple ceasefire efforts have failed to bring about an end to strikes between Israel and the Tehran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

“The Lebanon peace is something we’ll have to work on a little bit,” Trump said Wednesday.

Israel is not a direct party to the U.S.-Iran agreement. “We’ve had very, very constant contact with the Israelis,” the second U.S. official said. “They remain skeptical, as we remain skeptical, and obviously they’re preparing for what will happen in the event that Iran does not make the concessions in the final deal.”

They added: “We were very clear with Iran that this will not be a one-sided ceasefire, you know, they have to get a collar on their dog in Hezbollah, and they’ve got to hold them back. And if Hezbollah attacked Israel, Israel’s going to have the full ability to go and attack back.”

Iran has said that under the deal, Israel must withdraw its forces from the south of Lebanon, where nearly 4,000 people, including hundreds of civilians, have been killed and more than 1 million people displaced since fighting there began on March 2.

Israel has maintained it will continue to defend itself and to occupy vast swaths of Lebanon, and some strikes have continued this week despite the agreement.

An executive mechanism “will be established to monitor the successful implementation” of the U.S.-Iran deal, which will be endorsed via a binding U.N. Security Council resolution, according to the text of the MOU.

Read the 14-point memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2026/06/17/read-the-14-point-memorandum-of-understanding-between-the-united-states-and-iran/

This is Point 1. Didn't Trump just violate that saying if Iran doesn't sign what he wants in 60 days he'll go right back to bombing. He said I bombed them Tuesday, I bombed them Wednesday and Thursday was going to be 3 times more than that(strikes called off before agreement signed)

Paragraph 1

The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran and their allies in the current war, by signing this MOU, declare the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and undertake from now on not to initiate any war or any military operations against each other, and to refrain from the threat or use of force against each other, and ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final deal will confirm the permanent termination of the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon, and other provisions of this paragraph.

This is where they want to start charging tolls. Says free only for 60 days.

Paragraph 5

Upon the signing of this MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements, using its best efforts, for the safe passage of commercial vessels, with no charge for 60 days only, from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. The traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start, and considering the needs for removing the technical and military obstacles, and demining by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be instated within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialogue with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz.

I don't think that is an agreement, but what will be negotiated and agreed to in the final agreement.

It would be a wise decision to save this article till next Monday because the signed  and final MOA will be considerably different from this one especially in regards to the 300 billion that the left says will be GIVEN TO IRAN....
