Duffy says air flights may be cut as much as 15% in  coming days if shutdown continues.

All else aside, you might think that the airlines would pony up some cash for this.

Probably would need the owner's (stock holders) vote and consent.

I worked with SNAP, medical programs and public assistance.
Not one illegal immigrant did I have here.

Again the food stamp population
  20% elderly
  40% children
   10% disabled

Everybody  poorer isn't a deadbeat
That’s so true, Frodo. Illegal immigrants do not receive SNAP benefits. In fact they don’t receive any significant government help. However, if they have children born in the United States, those children are eligible for SNAP and government assistance.

People need to keep in mind that people receiving public assistance aren’t necessarily “deadbeats” or unwilling to work. A family of 4 earning $32,000 or less a year is entitled to assistance.  An employee making the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour earns $15,080 per year. It’s not rocket science. People need food assistance and I don’t, for one second, begrudge anyone receiving those benefits. I pay my taxes and I’ve always paid into Social Security. I don’t mind a small portion of what I’ve paid going to feed those in need. I’m sure there are a small section of people that have somehow managed to beat the system but that’s on them.

I am so very sorry that we have politicians and a sitting President unwilling to spend my money and your money to help the needy. It literally breaks my heart when we have a government willing to let people starve. I think that’s simply uncivilized and beyond contempt,
I am so very sorry that we have poli

A great example of the stupidity of Donald Trump and the incompetence of his administration is that they’re arguing to the Supreme Court that his tariffs aren’t a tax revenue–creating mechanism, but a regulatory one.

The key point is that if they’re deemed to be about tax revenue from tariffs — largely paid by American businesses and consumers — that constitutional role is clearly meant for Congress and could jeopardize Trump’s entire inept economic agenda.

So, they’re arguing that these taxes aren’t there to create revenue, but that they’re regulatory steps meant to protect American jobs.

Except, of course, for all the times Trump’s bragged about how much tax revenue the tariffs are generating — even going so far as to suggest we use that revenue to bail out farmers who are suffering from his tariff policies (irony clearly isn’t something Republicans comprehend) or to issue “rebate checks” to Americans.

Over and over, for months, Trump’s bragged (and lied) about who pays the tariffs and how much revenue they’ve brought in — with his asinine claims ranging from “billions” to “trillions,” as if the two amounts are close and largely interchangeable.

So, like with many other issues related to Trump, when a representative is forced to defend him in some kind of legal setting, what they’re claiming in front of judges is completely contradicted by the lies, conspiracies, and bullshit Donald Trump’s been saying publicly.
