BREAKING: A federal judge has THROWN OUT the purported “settlement” behind Donald Trump’s controversial $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” ruling there was never an actual legal case or controversy to support it.
In a blistering 56-page order, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams concluded the lawsuit was brought for an “improper purpose”—to give the appearance of judicial approval to a settlement that “had no viable basis in law or fact.”
The judge found that Trump, as president, controls the Treasury Department, the IRS, and the Justice Department officials involved in the case, making the supposed adversaries effectively the same side. She wrote that the facts lead to the “inexorable conclusion” that there was never genuine adversity between the parties and that the lawsuit was not a legitimate dispute.
The court nullified the settlement, prohibited the parties from citing it as a valid agreement in future proceedings, and referred Trump attorney Alejandro Brito to The Florida Bar for possible disciplinary action.
The ruling is a remarkable judicial rebuke, with the judge emphasizing that courts cannot be used to manufacture legal legitimacy for agreements that lack a real legal controversy.
