A snake here or there does not bother me - but that is terrifying!
That's not a lot of snakes , they will be carried for miles by the water.

There is no single official snake count for a square mile of land in Colorado. Snake populations vary drastically depending on the terrain, elevation, and available prey. While there can be thousands gathered at a communal winter den, normal densities in general habitats range from just a few individuals to a few dozen per square mile
