Our private schools here basically run on the same school schedule as the public one has. The onky difference is they may have a few days different due to religious holidays.

It doesn't matter.  You don't get bus service to private schools almost anywhere.  So, you still need someone who can take your kids to school and back home.  Lower income people and a lot of average middle class people don't have that option.  They are pretty much stuck sending their kids to public schools.  The money for these vouchers is robbed from public schools, in a lot of instances, and given to well off people who weren't gonna be sending their kids to public school, regardless of the existence of vouchers or not.

Historically, school districts didn't punish public schools for people in that distract that chose to send their kids to private school.  Now they get less money.  Even before that and having less money, if anything they could have done with more money, especially schools in lower income areas.
The days go by slow, but the years go by fast.
