Read this now. Remember McConnell been in hospital since Sunday a week ago.

During the Capitol Hill meeting, Trump also criticized GOP Sens. Dave McCormick and Mitch McConnell for missing Tuesday’s vote. However, McConnell remains hospitalized, and McCormick was on Air Force One with the president en route to an event in Pennsylvania during the vote.

So is Trump too stupid to know McConnell's in hospital or doesn't care?

CARACAS, Venezuela — Back-to-back powerful earthquakes struck off the coast of Venezuela on Wednesday evening, causing widespread damage, collapsing buildings and sending panicked residents into the streets.

The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes roiled the region, with buildings evacuated in cities and areas spread as far as Brazil’s Amazon about 1,700 kilometers (1,050 miles) away.

In a brief address to the nation late Wednesday, acting President Delcy Rodríguez said the earthquakes caused damages in several states, but she did not give any figures of homes and buildings damaged, injures or fatalities.

The earthquakes damaged the country’s main airport, Simón Bolívar International Airport, severely enough to lead to its closure, she said, adding that classes are being canceled for several days.

“We urge our population to remain calm,” Rodríguez said. “We urge unity.”

Rodríguez also asked all health care professionals in the country to report to hospitals to assist anyone who was injured.

In the state of Falcon, Gov. Victor Clark said 32 people had been hospitalized and more than four hours after the earthquake there were still 15 people trapped.

"..It saddens me that many people do not see far enough to understand well what we are losing while losing privacy rights and trivializing data protection. It is so much more than most think. This affects our intimacy, our safety, our social lives, our freedoms, and all our human rights.

It goes well beyond targeted advertising. Attacks on privacy lead to direct increases in authoritarianism and dictatorial governance.

We must care much more about it than we do now. It is critical to ourselves as individuals, but also to democracy and society as a whole. .."

Appeals court deals biggest setback yet to Trump DOJ’s demands for confidential voter roll data

A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected demands by the Justice Department that Michigan turn over non-public information in their voter registration files, in the biggest setback yet to the Trump administration’s attempt to obtain and audit unredacted voter rolls from states across the country.

The 6th US Circuit Court of Appeals said Michigan was not obligated to produce the confidential voter data – which could include social security numbers and driver’s license ID numbers – to the department.

Nine judges at the district court level have ruled against the administration’s efforts. This is the first time an appeals court has weighed in, potentially setting up the stage for a Supreme Court showdown on the issue.

Writing for the appellate panel majority, Circuit Judge Andre Mathis said the 1960 civil rights law Justice Department was relying on in its lawsuit seeking to force the production of the data did not cover Michigan’s aggregated voter file.

“Back then, the government used this power to ensure that everyone who had the right to vote could freely exercise that right,” Mathis wrote. “But today, the government invokes Title III for an inverse purpose—to ensure that some people have not voted.”

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel applauded the ruling, writing in a statement Wednesday, “The federal government continues to show a blatant disregard for voter privacy, but the rule of law has once again prevailed.”

The Justice Department has sued 30 states that have refused to produce their unredacted voter rolls.

In the case before the 6th Circuit, the dispute centered on whether the Justice Department could use provisions of the 1960 Civil Rights Act – which was aimed at pushing back on Jim Crow-era voter discrimination – to obtain voter rolls.

The law gives the attorney general the authority to demand the production of certain voting-related records that “come into” the “possession” of election officials. But the 6th Circuit – joining several other lower courts – concluded that the voter registration files that are assembled and maintained internally by states weren’t among the records the law covers.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn “Benson did not acquire, obtain, or receive the qualified voter file from a third party. Instead, Michigan officials created it themselves,” Mathis wrote in the opinion, which was joined by Circuit Judge R. Guy Cole, Jr. The ruling also said the Justice Department had failed to meet other requirements under the law in making its requests for the data.

As the Michigan case and the several others unfolded, DOJ lawyers gave shifting explanations for why they needed the voter files. But more recently, the administration has been clear that it plans to compare the state voter rolls against a Department of Homeland Security data system for verifying citizenship. That tool is already available for election officials to use voluntarily, and it has developed a reputation for turning up false positives because the data can be outdated, with naturalized citizens particularly at risk of being wrongly identified as ineligible voters.

He's got a ways to go
National average is $3.93

So it’s not under $2? Trump loses it in late-night post about high gas prices he promised would drop
Trump previously assured Americans that they would ‘soon’ see $2 gas prices, which would ‘drop like a rock’ as soon as the war in Iran is over

  • Never Take Me Seriously I mean it... Article 15 👍
For well off white liberals to accuse someone like me of white privilege is literally insane... Because poor white people should be voting right alongside poor black people.. so what do the Republicans do... They accuse poor people of stealing from welfare and about poor people they mean everyone who is poor.. Republicans complain about how the election in New York City turned out... But while under Republican control it seems like the only thing Republicans were worried about was rent control.. all the Republicans have done for years is criticized the Democrats without coming up with any damn solutions.. then the Democrats cleverly alienate a large voting block that should be voting with them by saying they are the problem... Damn problem isn't  poor white people..
It's ultra-wealthy white people.. believe me ultra rich white people have absolutely nothing in common with me at all except to use me to vote for them when they feel necessary... Which is why they lost my vote years ago.. maybe mayor Mamdani is promising pie in the sky.... But at least that's a kind of HOPE... The Republicans portray themselves as heroes for galavanting after the low income welfare cheats so they say.. while completely ignoring the concentration of wealth at the top.. which is why I tend to criticize both parties at times... I saw a rich white liberal lady on TV the other day who said that there was no such thing in this country as a white person who was not a racist... The kind of destructive generalization I was expect to hear about a Nazi talking about Jews.. Democrats have the ability at this time to unite poor white people and poor black people together instead of pushing them apart..
Because right now it's the Republicans blindly ignoring the state of the economy just like the Democrats did before Trump was reelected again.. don't sit there and tell me that the presidency of Donald Trump starting in 2024 has been one economic success story after another... People are hurting at the bottom... We are tired of being called the problem by democrats... And by Republicans who prove it Time after Time by going after any program that might help poor people.. as more and more new laws are put on the books to justify the arrest of people who are homeless... Both parties are going to have to answer for this eventually.... The rich people in this country only share power and a little bit of it at that with the less rich people or the poor people rather to ensure a measure of domestic tranquility... When the when the poor people finally figure out they are being lied to... By everyone... All anybody has to do is read the story of the French revolution to understand what happens next..
