And will be powerless when it decides to take over..
Perhaps so but I will keep my guns, just the same....

If it happens, you'll need more than guns.

It will out think you, it will be able to circumvent your intellect, it can outfight you, so I'd not be so sure of myself when it decides to come for us all.

It will have plenty of its own pawns to dispatch us, just as in Terminator.

We could fight it off, but for how long is the question.

If it's like the Terminator, it would only be a few months before wiping us from the face of the earth. And with each encounter, they will bring that knowledge back with them to be programmed in new units that will be effectively combat veterans straight from the assembly line.

Not a good prospect for mankind.

I respect your views, however, no matter can travel the speed of light. It's impossible without some kind of wave, but how would you make a wave that fast?

But that's an interesting concept of standing outside of time. How would this effect you if you are no longer connected to time?

Probably would not be moving and completely still. Don't know for sure, as I don't think anyone has tried it because it's most likely impossible. Although, I'm not certain of this.

Will it destroy itself? And what I intervention would there be?

Once it completed it's objectives in destroying us, I think it's most likely it'll leave other lifeform's in peace.

Another intelligent species will intervene. One that has  gone beyond the AI phase of evolution....

That depends. If said species comes to life, but does not bother the AI Intelligence, why would either want war?

We would try to shut the AI down because we want it as a slave. But if a new intelligence comes to life, what makes you think it will be like us?
I'm just curious to know your thoughts on this.

Because the James Webb telescope is not equipped to tell what atmospheric components there are on another world.

Those planets are very far away. So far that it's hard for Webb to see the composition of said planets atmosphere. But there has been water picked up on some. Not quite confirmed, but it's the best they have at the moment.

"The next generation" will certainly not be wiped out by Ai and they are the ones who will grapple with any AI problems that arrive...As for me, I Just don't care too much about what might happen after I leave that I wouldn't have any control over at present...
