Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin among actresses, CEOs charged in alleged college admissions scam

I wonder how many of these kids were turned away initially so the colleges could meet their diversity quota's?
Seems like most of these were accepted only thru their false sports credentials, and we all know accommodations to meet the quote will be made in other places in the name of profits!
When the 14th Amendment doesn't apply to whites, when you have anti-white policies such as affirmative action, this should be no surprised to anybody.

I just read an article about this earlier today. At first I was appalled and then I was very sad. Why would one spend exorbitant amounts of money to get their child into a school they don't qualify for when it's highly unlikely they're going to make it? They'll end up having to pay someone to ensure they have the grades to graduate. After that, they're in the real world where they can't make it either so they turn to alcohol and drugs. Perhaps that's a bit pessimistic but I can't for the life of me understand the reasoning.

I so agree. I had a friend who touted her kid's perfect scores in high school. Kid went to a private school and was a big fish in a small pond there. Kid gets in a big university and was a small fish in a big pond, couldn't hack it and couldn't make those perfect grades. Got hooked on drugs and alcohol and flunked out. Got off the drugs and alcohol and enrolled in a smaller college and is doing okay.

I’m always surprised when I see anyone who still supports trump. He lied about everything. Mexico’s is not paying for the wall. He is increasing the deficit. He did not replace Obamacare with anything better. He did not defeat ISIS. Hillary is not in prison (yet many who worked for him are]. He promised he wouldn’t cut social security or Medicaid, yet his latest budget proposes cuts to both.
How in the world can any rational, sane person still support him?
Oh right....he signed bibles. Is he Donald Christ?

Honestly...I don’t care. do you?
Sorry. Didn’t mean to channel Melanoma, but there are bigger issues in my mind. Black kids carrying cell phones being shot. Stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients getting their hospital room tossed because some jack booted thug thought they smelled pot. Folks losing their health care, pensions, veterans benefits, social security, kids being held in cages (excuse me...wire cottages) at the border...those are real issues. Rich people gaming the system to get their spoiled rotten kids into a better school....meh....it’s par for the course.

It's shitty, sure, but really just business as usual.

Exactly, here's one for the books for you. Daughter has to have braces, otherwise her teeth will grow into her jaws. Orthodontist contacts insurance company, jumps through every hoop they asked and they still want to deny her. We have been paying dental insurance for over 3 years and yet, they want to claim hers isn't medically necessary. I told husband we will just pay out of pocket.

My daughter has severe back issues. Was supposed to have surgery on Monday to fuse her spine. Insurance companies over-ruled her doctors who have done two previous surgeries and countless hours of physical utherapy and denied her surgery. I will never understand how we have allowed ourselves to reach a place where insurance companies are allowed to make medical decisions for us.
How many countries with socialized medicine have voted to get rid of it?

It is nuts and they all thought Obamacare was a joke but Trump hasn't done one thing to help anyone except his own kind.

Does this really surprise you when we have "adults" talking like 6 year old's? "Melanoma"
You talk like a child, but expect everyone else to hold a higher standard of how they act. Seriously?
What is it with Trump that makes liberals trigger into a mentally regressive state?
You're not the first person I've seen doing this here and It's just weird.

I'm pretty sure he didn't misspell Melania Trump's name on accident. So I don't know what you're talking about when you say "spelling". Reading comprehension too hard?
Please try and control your non-relevant emotional outbursts, Thanks.

I said when coming here, I wouldnt get involved in the serious issues that divide this country, but *shrugs shoulders* here I am.
Why are we "triggered"? He's fake, a sham. He ran on peoples fears, and ignorance of others. The man surrounded himself with rich business thugs who played the system, and for me I look for a man's character within his social circles. He sits in our highest office, and makes a mockery of our constitution while sending out petty tweets. For a person to agree with Trumps decisions, is saying our past presidents were worthless, and didn't do a thing for you, or protect you. To me that sounds like you're ungrateful for what you have been given in this country.
I could go on, and on, but instead on a different note. If you're wanting to debate political issues, leave religion out of it also. (Noticed religion, and equality in before statements) Religion has become a crutch for people to use when logic has failed them. This is the United States. We have freedom of religion, which will not always line up with your religious beliefs. Their values run as deep as yours, but for different purposes. Alrighty then. Rant over, and nice to meet you Window Licker. Btw with a name like yours you should be supporting some mental health issues. Window licking is scary real. Js ;-)

The fact is, you just describe in great detail any political party that's held office over the last 200+ years. You seem to have an unrealistic, romantic view on any pre-Trump American politics. Maybe you are just glossing over the "bad" things others did because it's "your side" doing it? Mr. Weepy gave us a good example of this level of hypocrisy in the "Politics" thread.
I thank you for your personal opinion of "why" people mentally regress into a child like demeanor when discussing Trump in here. I guess if that's the only way you (others) can express yourself, as a child, I think us voters got bigger problems than some out of context black kid randomly getting shot that Sundog mentioned.
I seriously doubt the validity of someone claiming they can make rational, well thought out choices when they act like this, let alone say they understand what a "good" President is and vote accordingly. Now that's scary.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nicely worded statement about religion. I can't tell if you hold me in high esteem as an intellectual colleague, reprimanding me for (entertaining a religious debate) answering people's religious questions/asking and challenging their own religious views in a political thread. Or implying I'm bringing up religion myself and pushing my own religious value's onto others. Which I have not.
Someone else thought the latter and I had to point out questions(?) are not statements of fact of ones beliefs. Answering someone's questions, when asked, is not pushing my religious values onto others. Quoting the full verse when someone half-quotes the Bible to push their own political anti-male agenda and calling them out on it is just good old fashion integrity. If people don't want to discuss others religion in the politics threads, maybe they shouldn't bring it up to begin with.
I think that probably covers all the misconceptions you might have if so. If you need some more clarity, feel free to ask.
Good to meet you also, DuckieDoll. I enjoyed your reply. My name, Window Lickers Union, is a homage to all the window lickers that use to gather (union) in the local Topix forum. After the slobbering display I've seen some of the posters do in here, I'm glad I kept it.

What is sad is I feel sorry for her, she is nothing but a trophy wife and looks sad in her marriage. I still remember the video where she was smiling and he turned to her and said something to her and she immediately looked like she was going to cry. She is married to someone who has affairs, admitted to grabbing women's pu$$y's and people think he is great. He isn't great and hasn't made America great again but made us a laughing stock.

I don't feel sorry for her at all. She's essentially a prostitute. She didn't marry him for his good looks or charming personality.

I think it might be a little pretentious to judge if someone is happy or not in their marriage over a few video's, especially without context of what was said. Making such a judgement without personally knowing their day to day lives is nothing more than projecting your own ignorance for politic theater. Even then, you don't know how they act in private, alone.
Melania is (was) a model who's career spanned over 20 years (1975-1998). Also, try to remember she is of European (Slovenia) origin, the different cultural upbringing and industry fashion standards for the time period probably play a big part on how she handles herself now.
A quick Google search will net you plenty of results on why some models don't smile.
Traditionally, fashion photography has also long used the haughty look to suggest the status that the right clothes could bring to the wearer in a more socially mobile society. Essentially, this look says: “I am better than you”, because it refuses to offer the open, smiling face of welcome that we conventionally use to engage someone we wish to interact with. It also conveys the self-control, stiff upper lip and nonchalance of the European upper classes “civilised” qualities which the “jolly old working classes” in those days supposedly found hard to convey.
I hope this new information helps you to make a more informed decision as to why she hardly smiles and may "look sad" to you.

BS, she was smiling and the minute he turned to her she immediately stopped. She is and looks like an abused wife. I know a lot of models who may not smile but they sure don't look like they are going to cry. She doesn't give a haughty look at all and she is no longer a model so not smiling is not really an option. By the way, I met some European women who would put her to shame and they are always smiling. I have been to Eastern Europe and the women there aren't that way at all.

So you judge her whole marriage on 1 video. A video that you have zero context of what was said and how that effected her personally. For all tense and purposes, maybe Trump told her that he had to leave on a trip and he'd be gone for a week and that's what made her "look sad". Do you even know? NOPE.
Please stop projecting your politicized hysterics onto others in order to publicly ridicule Trump by using Melania's model influenced mannerisms as leverage, a behavior she learn since starting her career at the age of 5. The rest of your comment about supposedly being in Eastern Europe is just confirmation bias.
You are no different than when Trump supporters tried to get everyone believe Michelle was a man. It's just sad. It really is.

Did it make you feel better to get your once a day off topic quip about me in?
Do you have anything of substantial value to add to the conversation, a thought, a theory... maybe some factual evidence? Didn't think so.
Hahahaha, he has no power which is what is funny. He just thinks he does. Hahahaha
I do?
So, Let me get this straight.
Someone who insinuates to have the power to read my mind "He just thinks he does", and pronounce with absolute authority that Melania is unhappy in her marriage and "she IS and looks like an abused wife" by only watching 1 video, is claiming others think they have "powers".
Project much?

You project a lot and it shows. You are like all the rest of the Trump lovers who thinks he has made America great again. There have been more than just that one video but I know that is all you have seen. Get out of your glass house and see what is happening in the real world. You obviously have never been anywhere except to lick the windows on the bus. By the way, Eastern Europe is a very beautiful country, it isn't biasness that I have been there. I imagine you have never traveled anywhere. For the record, I have been to Ukraine, Germany and Poland so unless you can prove that I haven't than by all means please do so. Kyiv, Ukraine is a very beautiful country and has a statue very similar to our Statue of Liberty. Warsaw, Poland is a neat little artist on the banks of the river. We didn't get to see much of Germany but what we did see was neat. We have also been to Guatemala and Antigua or old Guatemala.
By the way, idiot, Michelle is a woman and I have never said she was a man, she doesn't even look like a man.

Odd, I haven't said anything that could by any stretch of the imagination be considered "Pro Trump".
Here is a few quotes from what I've said about him, his voters and policies.
This thread, comparing your delusions with the delusions of Trump supporters.

My personal opinion is that Trump isn't a particularly "great" President, nor is he a really "bad" one. Mediocre across the board, besides on a few pertinent national security issues...
Not bashing Trump, doesn't equate to being "Pro Trump". I'm sorry if you got caught up in the mass 'Orange Man Bad ' psychosis in here. This just highlights how your emotionalism has gotten the better of your logic and reasoning skills. The amount of assumptions you make and believe as fact is truly astounding. Look at all these "mind reading" claims you've made just in this last reply alone. I also don't have to provide proof that you didn't go to Eastern Europe. You made the claim that you did, the burden of proof is on you. Michelle is a woman. No, really? You think. Don't think I claimed otherwise.
Is this what passes for "college educated" these days? How much did your parents have to pay?
OR you could just read Ivana's divorce deposition.
OR, you can provide the proof for your own claim. Imagine that!
I checked around, couldn't find it. All i did manage to find was that it is now "sealed". Do you have a link?
Thanks, Der.

Uh. I posted the proof that I have been to the places that I have been. Now go lick you some windows.
You are the one who made the statement that I was of the mindset of those who claimed Michelle was a man and I said nope she isn't, you show how ignorant you really are. I doubt you went to college or even have a degree. I also doubt you have kids even though you made the claim you did but others have also stated that in all the years they posted with you that you never once mentioned having any.
By the way, all one has to do is google Ivana's divorce from Donald and she tells why.
-
I see where Lori Loughlin turned herself in for this. Wonder how many more did this for their kids.

OK, you making a statement then claiming your statement is "proof", isn't actual proof. Oh, man. This is so hilariously bad.
They must not of taught reading comprehension in the school from where you're from. I said you're just as sad as the Trump supporters making outrageous claims (Michelle is a man). I'm addressing your outrageous claims, not saying you thought Michelle was a man. Reading hard?
Don't conflate education with being intelligent. Your degree's afford you no authority.
Still no proof provided of Trump supposed "abuse". No surprise.

I think the papers are saying a total of 50 people are being charged in this incident. I say this is not an isolated one.

Really because I named a statue that is in Kyiv, Ukraine that most don't know about. We stayed near Independence Square in 2003 which has been totally destroyed by Russia. You obviously have zero comprehension skills or you would google those places and it would show that I know what i am talking about. Now continue showing us all what an ass you are because you do it so well. Now, I am sure you will be on here the rest of the night but I won't, because I have a family, for someone who claimd they have kids, you sure are on here at night instead spending time with them.
I am sure there are others involved in the SAT scandal which is sad because they didn't let their kids get in a college or university based on grades and scores like I had to and like countless others have had to do also.

So, knowing the names of places is now proof of actually being there. Because like you said, I (you) could of just googled the names of places (without actually being there), to know them.
OK, lets put this "logic" to good use. Let's see.... Mare Moscoviense. Holy sh!t, I just traveled to the far side of the moon, and saying the "little known name" of the place is proof I was there!!!!
Yes, that is how silly and absurd you sound. Exactly.
That's some next level logic, purplelady1040. Real legit.
(Enjoy your evening)

I see where Lori Loughlin turned herself in for this. Wonder how many more did this for their kids.
I would not be suprised if Fred Trump done the same thing for his spoiled brat kid...

No stupid because I have actually been there. Do you honestly think people are going to know about those places unless they have been there? No, they aren't. People who have been there know those places. Just like in old Guatemala, there is an old church that is now a hotel. They also have in the Catholic church there one of the only known pictures of Judas of Iscariot. Now, people don't know that unless they have gone there. The jade factory and museum is beautiful there. So see when I mention those places I have actually been there. Now if you ask me about San Diego, California, I couldn't tell you anything because I have never been there but can google a ton of places on it. The difference is I have been to the places in Kyiv and Guatemala and not San Diego.
By the way, the reason I know about the 2 places that I have been to is due to the adoption of our children but I am sure you will have some snarky ass comments about adopting internationally versus domestic so lets hear them but I can tell you this, our kids know about their countries because of our desire to travel to them to learn about those countries. The cost of a domestic adoption can often be higher than an international one and the fact that the birth mother can and often changes her mind often after adoptive parents have shelled out money. Or is your comment going to be something nasty about my husband or myself, that doesn't phase me either because big deal, I couldn't get pregnant had nothing to do with my husband and even if I could have, we still would have adopted.
-
I would not be suprised if Fred Trump done the same thing for his spoiled brat kid...
Well, it would have to be the older kids, the younger one isn't old enough to go college. Although he could take the SAT.

You seem to be under a lot of stress, making excuses instead of providing proof. So I'm going to let you save face by retracting my comment asking for it.
First, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of this conversation
Second, even if true, your very limited experience of being in some random Eastern European city has no bearing on how Melania's life long modeling career may of effected her personally and how she holds herself in public. None, Zilch, Zero.
You made absolute statements about her "looking sad" in her marriage because "she IS an abused woman" off of one video, without any context. A video you have even failed to produce for anyone to see. You did all this without even entertaining the possibility of her 5-29 years of age modeling career and how it may of effected her mannerisms.
No way in your mind this may of had any effect. None. All because you want to believe "all things Trump" is bad. A monster, some boogieman come to destroy all you hold dear.
So much mass hysteria in here feeding off one another in your own delusions.
Try and get a grip on reality. All you are doing is embarrassing yourself at this point by continuing in such made up, asinine delusions.

Odd, I haven't said anything that could by any stretch of the imagination be considered "Pro Trump".
Here is a few quotes from what I've said about him, his voters and policies.
This thread, comparing your delusions with the delusions of Trump supporters.

OR, you can provide the proof for your own claim. Imagine that!
I checked around, couldn't find it. All i did manage to find was that it is now "sealed". Do you have a link?
Thanks, Der.
Its your attitude that has a lot to do with people assuming you support him, now granted that is an assumption but since you think men are inferior to women can you see where people might get that idea. BTW Would you talk differently if Hilary was president?

Sorry to disappoint you because I know it must but not under any stress in my life. By the way, what more proof do you want? I am not going to post personal pictures of myself, husband and kids showing the places that I mentioned and telling about the places obviously shows I know about them without Googling. Now continue whining like you do.

Okay Folks, this thread seems to have gotten way off track. Let's try to see if we can bring it back around to the original topic.
Please by all means, feel free to create a thread about Melania or family vacations. I'm sure many people may or may not be interested.
Let's please remember that good debate doesn't have to include personal insults or derogatory comments about one another.
BTW....
1. Fred Trump was Donald's father.
2.It's "for all intents and purposes" not "all tense and purposes".
3. It's "you would have or would've" not "you would of". You cannot replace the verb 'have' with the preposition 'of' even though when said aloud they sound the same.
Thank you and have a nice day.

ICNO: Agreed.
Pot, meet kettle.
With that said. Yes, daddy.

I just wonder if we will ever find out how many paid to have someone else take SAT's, ACT's and PSAT's tests for their kids.
Going to probably say we'll never know the full extent. I seriously doubt this is an isolated event. Sadly, this probably goes on all across the country at varying levels of education.
Somebody asked early, might of been ICNO, as to "why" somebody would bribe to have their kid put into a place like Harvard. Answer would be that a plaque saying Harvard on your wall is more prestigious and opens a lot more doors for opportunity than one that says "California Community College"
Anyone heard if any of the kids are being charged with anything?

Harvard doesn't impress me, I would put my 4 year degree from a private college up to it any day of the week. I don't know that the kids will be charged as many were probably minors when this happened and certain states depending on where the kid is from would have a statute of limitations especially depending on whether it is going to be a felony or not.

First of all, let me just explain that I'm not, nor could I ever be your daddy. It's physically impossible due to gender incompetence, if you will. Further, no child of mine would ever show flagrant disrespect towards others with a differing opinion by attempting to flex their cranial muscle while using terms such as "would of".
Yes, I did in fact, wonder why one would spend exorbitant amounts of money to ensure a place on a prestigious campus for a child that lacked the intelligence or the desire to succeed at that level. I'm very well aware of the notoriety a degree from Harvard would afford one. However, let's not lose sight of the fact that these young people for which the money was paid, had no desire to seek an education, whether it be from Harvard or the defunct Trump University. They didn't apply themselves in any capacity prior to the money being paid on their behalf. Therefore, one could conclude that they'll never acquire that highly sought degree. If by chance enough money is paid to not only afford them entrance, but also carry them thru to graduation, then what? If one doesn't work towards, or otherwise apply themselves, that degree and all the prestige that goes with it, is moot. They will not succeed. They haven't acquired what it takes to succeed in the workforce. Of course, I suppose Mommy and/or Daddy could possibly finance a political career and buy them enough votes to get them elected to some office whereby all they're required to do is make Twitter posts all day.
I don't look for any of the recipients of the monetary benefits to be charged as they didn't make the payments nor did they contact the various organizations to reap those benefits. In fact, I doubt some even knew.
Yes, I'm almost certain it's happened many times and many other colleges and universities are involved. Schemes of this magnitude are never isolated.

Says; A good debate don't involve "personal insults and being derogatory". Continues to be derogatory towards others because of "grammar".
I also like how you are offhandedly using your position as a mod to squash (Read: Bullying) anyone else's dissenting opinion. You started off with a blanket statement about how "people" don't need to be disrespectful and derogatory in a good debate, but the more you point out that I was the one being "disrespectful" and using it as a platform for personal attacks towards me, one can see who your comment was really directed at.
How many times are you going to be derogatory about my grammar, while in the same breath tell everyone else not to?
Not that I even care about your lightly veiled insults, I don't. I'm only pointing it out to begin with to show how hypocritical you are- Shamefully so. And question your ability to mod fairly. This is the reason I even mention it to begin with. Are you sure you can separate your personal beliefs with your power to moderate? Do you have the integrity?
So far after your constant little display of derogatory quips, you don't inspire one to confidence.

USC, Yale University among colleges sued by Stanford students amid college admissions scandal.
The University of Southern California, Yale University and several other elite colleges are being sued by two Stanford University students who claim they were denied a fair opportunity for admission and have had their degrees devalued due to the college cheating scheme revealed by federal officials Tuesday.
Erica Olson and Kalea Woods filed a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday, a day after federal authorities said they uncovered one of the largest college admissions scams to hit the U.S. The lawsuit seeks $5,000,001 on behalf of what the lawyers estimate will be thousands of plaintiffs who fit the criteria to seek class status.

Truthfully, I hope they win. These schools need to be made an example of so maybe in the future this type of behavior is minimized. They should of sued for a higher amount in my honest opinion.

I don't know, I think they had to know on some level other wise why the bribes, I think they are just as culpable and need to exit the college

Regular people would of said incompatible, meaning INCO is female. So she could never be my "Daddy".
That's what I gathered from the comment.

I don't have time to give this a proper, well thought out response. I wish I did however, I'm very pressed for time today. I did feel the need to address a few key issues.
I did not say, "a good debate don't involve personal insults and being derogatory". What I said was, "a good debate doesn't have to involve". If you read with clarity there is a difference.
I try at all times to moderate with a fair and honest mindset. I don't feel I've ever been prejudice. However, since you've brought that up let's look at my initial statement. I stated this thread had gotten off track. That was very true. I mentioned family vacations and Melania as the sources. Those items are both 2 headed coins. Both you and Purplelady were in a written brawl over those issues. I don't feel I blamed either of you. I merely pointed out the issues. After that I did mention "tense and purposes", "would of", and "Fred Trump". Now, I do believe 2 of the matters I corrected in that portion of my post were directed at you. I felt you might want to know. Obviously I was wrong as you took offense. The other correction was an error PL made but she didn't take offense.
After my initial request to take the thread back to its original post, you seemed to feel a need to banter by calling me "daddy" and insinuating I was merely correcting spelling. That was not at all my purpose however, you were blinded by that key component. Because that was all you could see and it was obvious you weren't pleased, I took it one step further and went for the gut shot. For that, I apologize.
Now, please allow me to clarify one more thing. I did not ask to be a moderator nor did I ask to be a global moderator. I don't under any circumstance consider it a privilege. However, it's not a task I take lightly and intend at all times to help Pete the best I can.
It's my personal opinion that you have attempted at every opportunity to belittle others. Even your tag line is belittling to others. That's your choice and I've afforded you that privilege. I merely stepped in to correct the turn this thread had taken and because it appeared to me the tone was getting a bit heated.
Again, I apologize for offending you. While I admit, it might have been my intent to stick a pin in your ego, I should have not taken that shot.
Have a good day.
Oh and yes, I am female. I felt my word choice in the matter left nothing to the imagination. I agree other words such as incompatible may have been a good choice as well but I used what I felt was best. Obviously it worked for you so I'm satisfied.

Nope, I take no offense when corrected.
Have a good day, ICNO!

No matter how many times you say "you (WLU) got offended", doesn't make it true. (I find your attempt cute at best)
You repeat it like you're trying to convince other readers that false accusation is true, so they gloss over who is really "offended" in your poorly devised psycho-babble response.
Your projection is cute. I'm sure you could of done better if you had more time.
Matter of fact, I stated otherwise; "Not that I even care about your lightly veiled insults, I don't."
In your rush to respond, you totally overlooked this one key component that completely destroys your whole reply.
If you would of taken the time to "read with clarity", maybe you wouldn't of been so pressed for time writing out a non-relevant response. (Food for thought)
If you think that you're going to start screaming at the sky in an uncontrolled manner, or others feel my name or tag is "belittling", offending your very, very delicate sensibilities, feel free to use the block feature. If words on a screen from some random person upsets you this much, maybe you're the problem - not them. Unlike you, I find nobody here offensive or belittling. For an example sake, even when purplelady calls me "stupid" as seen in post #40.
Next, let me address the way I speak to others since you actually seem offended by it on a personal level. I apologize again if you find the way I speak (bluntly) to be "belittling". Your delicate sensibilities have no bearing on factual evidence, and/or the truth of the matter being presented. Politics and religion are not for the mentally feeble and weak of heart. If you (others) feel you fit one of these categories, you can feel free not to participate in them, just like everyone else has the freedom not to.
If you think I may be belittling everyone at "every chance", you should probably remove yourself from this politic thread section and visit other parts of this forum. It's really no surprise you come to this wrongly held conclusion, ignoring readily available information to fulfill your self feeding delusions in a poor and humorous attempt at character assassination. We also see this with the "Orange Man Bad" crowd in here. It seems to be a common reoccurring theme.
Thank you for the response. It was really nice for you to not flaunt your privilege as moderator, that you "afforded" me to be able to do something, no matter how much you just tried and deny to everyone you don't see it as a position of privilege.
I had a great day. Thank you.

I have to say WLU is blunt and to the point, that's 1 of the main reason I enjoy reading his posts, in a way he is like a topix poster named Tbay most people don't enjoy the truth and for it to not be sugar coated makes it even harder to swallow, I personally like the challenge he presents to my intellect, he makes me think and challenges my perceptions on things, but I do have 1 thing that kinda irrates me is that he can say penis but I cant, whats up with that?

Ok, you may be right. At least I'm sure you are in your mind. It's fine, I don't take exception to your belief you're right. Actually, I'm not sure I'm capable of reading all that with clarity. I tried a couple of times and what I got was a difference of opinion. That's okay too. We don't have to agree and honestly, I don't care.
I'm just really kind of stumped as to why you didn't point out that I have now contributed greatly to this thread being off topic. *facepalm*

That's good. I like it when people get along and enjoy each other's posts.

Yes, I'm almost certain it's happened many times and many other colleges and universities are involved. Schemes of this magnitude are never isolated.
There's no question that it has happened before. That is actually my biggest problem with this whole story. Gaining admission through donation is a well-established means of entry into these institutions AND it is completely legal. Where these people went wrong was that they tried to circumvent policy by keeping the funds for themselves (athletics/testing) instead of the funds going into a general donation fund.

Agree and what also is wrong is the ones who never did anything like this but couldn't or didn't have the money to get in but had the scores. I am sure there are plenty of those who did what they should have and honestly .

I can say pen!s, because it's my patriarchal privilege as a white male. Or... I substitute the exclamation point (!) for the letter (I) to bypass the absurd censorship on this forum. Pick your choice.

Everyone is "correct", unless proven otherwise with (new) factual information presented that disproves one's beliefs. That's usually how a debate unfolds. Are you new to this?
And no, we don't have to agree. Like I said during our first encounter, I'm not here to change people's minds. I just present (debate) the evidence. People's inability to take the presented, factual information and objectively come to a rational conclusion is on them, not me.
Our Topix was pretty dead besides the few trolls and conversations happened organically throughout threads that swung 'violently' from one topic to the next. I'll try and keep it on topic as a respect to Der.

I said earlier that they (students) should of sued for more than 5 million, but this is pretty funny- $500 billion.

Another lawsuit filed by Joshua Toy and his mother said he was denied college admission despite a 4.2 grade point average, and seeks $500 billion of damages from 45 defendants for defrauding and inflicting emotional distress on everyone whose “rights to a fair chance” to enter college was stolen.

What is sad is there is a homeless teen who has taken this and the ACT and passed them both but you won't hear about kids like that who overcome the odds and get into a college or university. Why, because it isn't newsworthy.

Far be it from me to deny you your patriarchal rights

I read probably the same article, we have encouraged our son to do just that and he wants to go into the welding trade. I always told kids when working with them, I don't take my car to Joe Citizen but to a qualified mechanic. Trade people make more money in some fields than degreed people and probably with less loans to pay back.
