Truth is I had not watched aforementioned news channels in a few years myself, I am an online person and get news elsewhere.
It goes to CNN as a default for non political news such as disasters and such if I need to.
Cable news “jumped the shark”, so to speak, years ago. Only paranoid bobbleheaded Fox viewers care about such now…

They got some good fans and hard to win Basketball there. They beat UT and us there. They had
to pay us 500K for rushing the court when they won. When they beat Alabama in football they rushed the
feild and had to pay them 250K .The next time the do it 1 million.

Hmm, I just noticed something, the “Report to moderator” buttons on my thread is already fading due to overuse and until recently I never seen it in use as often as the last few days, primarily by guests who do not want to be identified. Wonder why that is?
I have never used that button before on Pete’s thread before, never needed to, I have thick skin and I am not a puzzy, no reason to do such.. I don’t need to have my hand held and pampered to by anyone.

I do. When they were first runs I didn't have time to watch them all so a great many of them are new to me. Same as with many of the old shows and movies, many were before my time and didn't get a lot of reruns on the 3 networks so they might be old, but they are like new shows/movies to me.
When I was young I didn't understand why the old people loved those stars so much, seeing those actors early in their careers I understand now.

I think the only place I didn't see any was at the Frankfort airport and that might have been because I was most drinking in the bar with some workmates who were also on the way home while I was waiting for my flight.

Pete is feeling better and I'm feeling worse... I have to keep my blood pressure at about 107 over 65. Because of the aneurysm in my upper thoracic aorta. If my blood pressure goes too high the aneurysm in my aorta could explode. This would cause me extreme pain for about 90 seconds. After that I would not care because I would be dead as a rock.

new studies are showing that walking around one or two miles a day is great if you're 70 or over but walking anymore than that actually increases the aging process. Now doctors are saying when you get older it's more important to work your muscles out so you can remain ambulatory. Fortunately I have weights at home and I work out frequently. Working your muscles out also keep your bone density where it needs to be. A lot of old people fall down because they can't stand up. Why can't they stand up? Lack of exercise has made them weak. Some people think when they get old it means they just don't do any damn thing. If you think that way you are sentencing yourself to death.

George must have mellowed quite a bit since that last interview I saw of him where he referred to Shatner as a total a******. Leonard Nimoy himself was an inveterate smoker which eventually killed him. SAME THING KILLED JOHNNY CARSON. Those old school guys loved to smoke. Mr Spock never would have smoked. He would have seen the clear illogic of that. I actually assumed Shatner would have died from a venereal disease by now.

TT lost to UVa for the national title few years back. I do believe they will return. They had no history in the sport until they hired Bob Knight and their basketball program awhile back got better afterwards.
Only time WVU ever played against Knight was against TT in NCAA tourney, before WVU came to XII…WVU never played Indiana while Knight coached there…

The river is going down and in some areas as of today they’ve been able to start a bit of clean up. We have water again, but I’m not drinking it just yet. My imagination conjures up all kinds of sludge and muck from the river and I just don’t wanna drink any of that! I was so glad to have water back! I got caught up on my laundry and I showered which made me extremely happy! My son and daughter in law kept telling me to come stay with them but I didn’t want to impose. They didn’t work on Monday because of the flooding and they could neither one make it to their offices. My son was able to go back Tuesday afternoon and my DIL went back on Wednesday.

I don't blame you on the drinking of water part. A lit of schools were out last week. This week around here has been spring break but I do know McLean County Schools and Daviess County have been out. McLean will be out until further notice.

I think the beef of recent Derby winners is that the Preakness needs to be run at least 3 weeks after the Derby not two and running both does affect their Belmont performance. I agree all the races need to be a month apart. These Colts and fillies are young, some aren't even 3 even though according to racehorse world they all turn a year older on January 1st. It is hard on the young bones of these horses which aren't developed.

BREAKING: Donald Trump melts down after a reporter humiliates him on camera with the "nastiest question" by bluntly asking about the fact that he "always chickens out on tariffs."
She really went for the jugular with this one...
"Mr. President, Wall Street analysts have coined a new term called the TACO trade. They're saying Trump always chickens out on the tariff threats and that's why markets are higher this week," said a reporter. "What's your response to that?"
"I kick out?" responded the 78-year-old Trump, apparently mishearing.
"Chicken out," corrected the reporter.
"Oh... Isn't that... I chicken out. I've never heard that," said Trump.
The term "TACO trade" recently appeared in The Financial Times and stands for "Trump Always Chickens Out." The term refers to the idea that Trump will implement tariffs, the markets will start to crash, and he will then quickly backtrack and attempt to claim a win.
Trump was predictably upset by the reporter's question—
"You mean because I reduced China from 145% that I set down to a hundred and then down to another number?" he said. "I said you have to open up your whole country and because, uh..."
"I gave the European union a 50% tax, uh tariff, and they called up and they said 'Please let's meet right now. Please let's meet right now,'" Trump rambled on. "And I said 'Okay, I'll give you till July—' I actually asked them, I said 'What's the date?' Because they weren't willing to meet and after I did what I did they said 'We'll meet any time you want.' And we have an end date of July 9th."
"You call that chickening out?" Trump asked. "Because we have $14 trillion now invested, committed to investing... When Biden didn't have practically anything. Biden... This country was dying."
"You know we have the hottest country anywhere in the world? I went to Saudi Arabia," Trump went on. "The king told me. He said 'You've got the hottest—' We have the hottest country in the world right now. Six months ago this country was stone cold dead. We had a dead country. We had a country, people didn't think it was going to survive and you ask a nasty question like that?"
"Uh, it's called negotiating," he continued. "You set a number. And if you go down... You know if I set a number at a ridiculously high number and I go down a little bit, you know a little bit, they want me to hold that number. 145% tariff."
"Even I said 'Man that really got up.' You know how it got up? Because of fentanyl and many other things..." Trump said. "And you added it up. I said 'Where are we now? We're at 145%' I said 'Woo, that's high. That's high.'"
"They were doing no business whatsoever and they were having a lot of problems. We were very nice to China," he went on, clearly animated by the question. "I don't know if they're going to be nice to us but we were very nice to China. And in many ways I think we really helped China tremendously."
"Because you know they were having great difficulty because we were basically going cold turkey with China," he claimed. "We were doing no business because of the tariffs because it was so high. But I knew that. But don't ever say what you said. That's a nasty question! To me that's the nastiest question."
The truth is that Trump's tariffs have been an unalloyed disaster. They've accomplished nothing for the American people while injecting instability into the market, skyrocketing consumer prices, and causing layoffs. At the same time, they make the United States a less safe place for foreign investments and advertise the fact that America is an unreliable partner.
Trump always chickens out. For the sake of us all, let's hope he continues to do so.

“Can you imagine,” mused Major T, “an entire line of newly commissioned officers refusing to shake the President’s hand, yet saluting him? It would’ve been the perfect image of our times—honor intact, but unity fractured.”
And so, President Trump’s decision to depart swiftly wasn’t born of political cowardice or personal pique, but of a carefully orchestrated plan to protect the very soul of West Point.
After all, in a world where handshakes can be loaded weapons, even the Commander-in-Chief had to recognize that the Honor Code brooks no compromise.
Or perhaps he simply realized that he’d be exposed.
As for the graduates, they walked away with their honor unsullied, commissions secure, and a story to tell that would never appear on cable news but will echo down the halls of the Academy long after the brass bands fall silent.
In the end, what’s a handshake, really, when compared to the weight of an oath sworn under the long shadow of the Hudson?
After all, even the president can’t break the spine of an honor code written in blood, sweat, and the quiet resolve of those who know that a commission earned in truth must never be tarnished by the stains of another man’s lies.

Nearby Bluefield serves free lemonade to all residents and merchants of city business if temp goes over 90° during the Summer. They had went a few years without it in the past. Historically it rarely ever reaches that temp. Don’t have their stats on that they been doing that since the 1930s..
Bluefield has one of the highest elevations in the US east of the Rockies, why heat is rare there, at least high heat. It does drop about a 1k in elevation within 10 miles West of the city, warm in those places…
