Interestingly enough, many of the people who gray boxed and caused all the trouble on the Welch forum were part of another private forum. I always had the feeling that while they were disrupting Topix, their main goal was to recruit for their private forum.

I have been to her boards after I met her and they were nothing to write about, just a handful of people and their way of doing things were outdated ( just like their forum system) by then, such as personal email, the PM on Topix was a better mode of communication and the iphone and ipad, formerly the laptop enabled many of us to post wherever we wanted. They came late to that game. I do not use email anymore except to register and no longer confined to a huge PC in the living room, been that way for awhile. I think Kookoo figured it out in 2015 that is was possible to post elsewhere and that technology been around for awhile.

I had imagined that group posting from an old desktop somewhere deep in their mom’s basement. The idea of being able to post from nearly anywhwere completely evaded them.

However, from what I understand, once you've logged in a few times it doesn't happen anymore. That may not give you a lot of encouragement but that's about all I know. I'm pretty sure those parameters are set by the host company and not Pete or he would have fixed it by now.

I think it depends on how big you want it to be. You could definitely push more politics threads which would naturally bring conflict, resulting in more traffic, but with all that comes a host of all manner of troublesome issues. Having to moderate and balance that conflict is probably a nightmare.
Personally, I think the sight is cool. You get to post music, and there are word game threads similar to topix. The people are civil. It's a much less stressful place to interact which is a breathe of fresh air. But nowadays, people seem to gravitate towards places where they can free themselves of their better angels. It's kinda sad. I don't know man. Maybe change the name to Topix4u? I don't know. I'm pretty worthless at these sorta things. lol

I think you have to register. I was about to, but after reading the registration agreement I had concerns about the terms of revealing a user's identity. All it takes is a formal complaint, which is basically just an accusation, to potentially expose your identity. Not that I would do anything to provoke such an action, but if there's anything I learned from Topix, it's that people don't always need a reason to screw you over. It sucks, cuz I'd really like to post songs in some of the other places. It's a cool place. Better than Topix in many ways. The people seem much more civil. Unless I'm misunderstanding the regs.
