I think that Florida just changed that.  And all states should, I don't care why they want too, it is against the COTUS.

It shouldn't be legal.  It's no different than driving a car.

Unless my son is driving the boat, I am not having more than one or two mic-ultras when I go out there.  I had a tall IPA and a half in me when we left the restaurant.  I was only gonna have two, but figured 1.5 was enough after I saw all those boats pulled over.  Then when we left the restaurant, I passed a police boat and nodded to the officers, right after the no wake.  Then when I picked up speed and was cruising maybe about 1/8 of a mile in front of them I see something black out of my right corner vision and then I look to my right again and it's the rope that my son dropped on the front of the boat when he got in it at the dock.  I have told them you always wind those up and don't leave the rope lose.  It takes 3 seconds to wind it up.

I told him, we are lucky they didn't stop our stupid azzes.

Makes me like my stretch river all the more.  We very seldom have any law enforcement presence outside of holidays and very little then. Even game wardens are scarce.

If I am just going down to the beach to toss a line for a little bit, I don't even bother to take my fishing license. I will if I am taking a bunch of gear but if I am toting just a rod and a beer I don't bother as even if they come by, I have a 2+ mile view in both directions and can scoot up the bank if I need too.

I told my son, "you owe me ... if I didn't say let's go back, you'd have gotten a ticket."  They have a police RV at the one marina we parked at this time.  It has a blue police light flashing all day, lol.

We usually use the public launch.

I have never seen it like that before.  There are two marinas and two public launches and my son said when you are leaving the one marina, the police have road side stops.

It's probably always been that way.  I have never seen so many police boats on the lake, however, much less four of them with their lights on with boats pulled over after we left the marina restaurant.
