I had some guy I went to school and used to be good friends with, pull a gun on me and point it in my stomach.  I used to hang out with him and his little brother and sister all the time.  I knew his parents.  His sister and her gf were the first girls I French kissed.  She was a few years older than me. 

My hulk brother wanted me to call the police after he did that. 

It all blew over and we are Facebook friends.

Unless you went off campus, if you got into a fight at school, even in the hallway before class, the teachers always broke it up before too long.  I got into a fight one time in the locker room before gym.  Some kid put me in a choke hold from behind, he had his face right my shoulder and I jacked him with my fist with my arm opposite where his face was on my shoulder.  That didn't even last long.  As I got older, the worst stuff happened outside of school, usually on the weekends.

Kids get in fights sometimes.  It's part of life and growing up.  If you are carrying a weapon to a fist fight, you are just asking to ruin your life.

It's not like he was in some back alley too.  Of all the places to get in a fight at, that's probably one of the safest environments you could ask to be in, even if someone started it and was physically assaulting you.  There are plenty of adults there who would intervene.  There is really no justification for it.  I don't understand how anyone can support the killer.  As a parent, you shouldn't even have to worry about that happening to your child at a school sporting event.
