That is an alpaca. I don't know what the difference is between llamas and alpacas. But alpacas seem to be popular in my neighborhood.  That one belongs to my neighbor. He sells yarn made from the alpaca's fur.
Llamas are larger, the ears are different and alpacas fur is more fiber than a llamas.

I canned about 25 quarts of green beans give or take and had another 25 quarts from last year, that will get us through the year along with 20 or so quarts of tomatoes and 8 quarts of potatoes.  I won't do much else except some corn,  canned about 15 quarts of carrots.

I can't, they needs alot of care, as much as I would like another one, plus when they die its too heartbreaking. Do you have an Iguana?

Iguanas make terrible pets.  It's nearly impossible to recreate the conditions that they need to thrive in captivity.  I had a pair of them for many years.  I loved them but I wouldn't get another.

I would think any lizard would make terrible pets as you have to have heat lamps.

Not just heat lamps.  They require special UV lighting in addition to heat.  Their diet is tricky and supplementing with vitamins is a must.  AND they get HUGE.  Most people do not have space in their homes for an enclosure that is large enough to suit the needs of a full grown adult.  My lizards free-ranged in my sun room.  Most folks aren't willing to go that far. LOL

Yes, Sprocket, it is dumb that I think that wild animals are better off wild.  LOL  Go back to your parents' hovel and pet your dragon or something.

Yep, one of my son's teachers in elementary school had a bearded dragon. She didn't realize that it got big. I think she thought she had a chameleon or a gecko.

I have chimney swifts living in my chimney.  A few years back, I remodeled this old farm house. I minted-out everything...hardwood, granite, etc. I re-did the brick fireplace in river stone.  But we have never built a fire in it because the same summer I did the remodel, the birds took up residence in the chimney.  I read that these birds are unable to walk on the ground or perch like regular birds so they live in hollow trees and chimneys.  They fly to Venezuela for the winter and then fly all the way back to Michigan and find my specific chimney, which is amazing. So, given the amount of effort they are putting in, I have decided that they can have the chimney and we just won't build fires inside.  We can enjoy our home without destroying theirs. Chimney birds are a nice feature in a house.

I have "chimney birds" as well.  I've been hosting them for the past 2 years.  They make an awful mess.  My fireplace is constantly full of old eggshells and bird poop.  They have to be the stupidest birds alive IMO.  I have to rescue them on a regular basis.  They somehow fall down the chimney (not fledglings, fully grown adults) and get all covered with ash and soot.  I have a 154 year old masonry chimney with no flue.  I have to clean out their eyes and such before I release them.  And if I don't find them soon enough they die and smell horrible.  Enjoy!

Mine are very polite. They've been coming back for 4 or 5 years now.
