I have a poinsettia that I have had for a couple of years now.  It has grown a lot but the leaves are not nearly as large as they were when I got it and it puts up far fewer colored bracts.  Like you, I put it outside in the summer.  it never occurred to me that it needed LESS light.
The dogwoods are blooming and it's 70 degrees. I guess spring is here. It's been a long depressing winter. Time for some sun and music and cookouts. And to grow my jalapenos.

I'm not sure what zone this is. But it stays cold here until it gets warm. It's time...

I have one light table that can handle 4 flats of ready-to-transplant plants. The light is (8) 4 foot T5 tubes

I also have a 400w metal halide/HPS light, a 200w CFL and a 600w equivalent led.  I don't know if I'm completely sold on led's. I like this 8-tube fluorescent fixture I bought in December. It uses around 400 watts. But it stays fairly cool, it has a large area and it is easy to raise and lower.  I bought the sturdy folding table that fits under it on Amazon to for about 60 bucks. The light fixture was 140 and came with the tubes. Maybe I'll set up another station just like that and increase my capacity.

Maybe with the extra time and the "stimulus" check this pandemic has created  I will buy or build a little greenhouse.  I don't know how much they cost. And I probably cannot get away with one of those cheap ones. The climate here is crazy harsh.

That pic reminds me of a scene from the movie, silence of the Lambs. Where the guy luved his insects, I forget what they were called. He fed them and took care of them well.

Hopefully it will stop snowing before Memorial Day and we can get our plants put in the ground outside.

It's getting kind of ridiculous.  My tomato plants are putting off blooms in my kitchen.  I had to go out and cover tons of stuff last night.

It snowed here today...seems like a never ending winter! I usually try to get my plants in the ground a week before Memorial Day.

I started 200 plants inside under lights and hardened them off over the past week. Now it's been cool here and lightly raining for two days. Perfect time to release the plants into the wild. It's like that movie Born Free...only with zinnias instead of lions.
