What I should have said is that Topix was out of control because they couldn’t do anything about people whose only goal was to disrupt others.

But it’s really not that important. I know what I meant.

Indeed, also this site has more features than Topix ever had. You can edit and delete posts, add pics etc. Is much better than Topix ever was. This is a proper modern forum.

Personally, I agree with Sundog in that for me, Topix had gotten old and stale. I mean seriously, people can only be called stupid or ugly so many times before it just has no meaning. LOL

However, that having been said, EVERYONE is entitled to their own feelings and opinions regarding Topix or anything else for that matter. Not everyone is going to agree on everything all the time. This is not the "Kumbaya" forum and it's not intended to be.

Obviously Pete doesn't have the same exposure Topix had. He also doesn't have the money or backing Chris Tolles has. I'm thinking he didn't intend to recreate Topix as we knew it. I'm fairly certain he merely intended to create a place where old Topix friends and acquaintances could gather and enjoy the light hearted bantering and camaraderie we once enjoyed in that other place.

Exactly. Topix people were searching here and there for our friends we lost contact with when Topix ended without so much as a days notice. To me, and of course i cannot speak for TP or anyone else, this is a nice place to keep in contact and not a recreation of Topix.
Topix had become standing water and was taking too much time just to fend off the repetitive bs.

I'm not really worried about exposure and will be happy if we get 50 members
who can half way get along with each other.

No, Topix closed the doors and forced everyone out. I never left the place, nor did most of my friends.

My plans for Topix were, after Louis's birth, to only post to the private forum SD created for CD and remove all other threads from the tracker.  So this is not much different in that respect. I can keep up fairly easy on this forum.

I agree and I like I can posts pics or edit my posts.

LOOL If that troll returns a bitching i shall bombard her with pics, vids and memes!  I recall they hated that on Topix. Went crying to the mods about my vids. Cannot stop me now.

My biggest concern when Topix shut down was that I’d lose contact with some friends who I only knew from Topix. This place takes care of that...well most of it anyway. I do like this site better so far. Seems easier to use now that I am getting used to it.

Seems like over the last few years Topix was just phoning it in. They hadn’t changed anything about the place or upgraded it in any way.
